If you love Italian food just as much as I do then you will love the Italian restaurant Venerdi in Homerton. Their focus and aim is to cook quality authentic Italian food. I was invited along with a few other bloggers (Katie @isthatlondon and Joice @jojoexplora) to sample some of their mouthwatering dishes.
Venerdi
Venerdi is an Italian restaurant who cook quality authentic Italian food.
They like to bring diners an old world Italian style of cooking made with fresh Mediterranean ingredients. The menu combines classic Italian dishes with contemporary twists. From great ‘antipasti’ to the home made ‘specialita di pasta’,’ pizza’, ‘pesce’, ‘carne’, and delicious desserts, leaving any diners taste buds satisfied and full bellies. Thus, making Venerdi the perfect place for Italian food lovers!
Dining at Venerdi
Upon entering Venerdi we were greeted by the aroma of “old world Italian cooking” and a warm welcome by the staff. The restaurant is designed in such a way that it makes it feel homely. Plus the restaurant was buzzing with many diners and this was a Tuesday night so we knew that we was in for a real treat.
After scanning through the menu and much deliberation we eventually chose three different starters, mains and desserts to share.
Looking upon the chef’s cooking in front of us in the open kitchen made us very hungry indeed but it created such an intimate atmosphere.

Starters

Arancini
If you love Arancini then you will love these balls which are covered in golden crumbs, filled with risotto rice, peas and oozes with gooey mozzarella. Plus served with a Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce.

Tricolore
The buffalo mozzarella was fresh, thick and very creamy most likely one of the best mozzarellas I have ever tasted. The tomato’s and avocado were fresh and high in quality.

Misto Fritto
These deep fried king prawns, calamari, whitebait, salmon, courgette and aubergine all tasted amazing with the calamari cooked to perfection not chewy at all. Plus it was served along with a creamy tartar sauce.
Mains

Chatsworth
This pizza had a great crunch and had a great mix of cheeses which stretched and oozed over this pizza making it a cheese lovers dream.

Linguine Pescatore
This seafood dish was full of fresh meaty seafood from clams, mussels, king prawns, calamari and langoustine all which was served along with fresh homemade pasta in a luxurious tomato sauce.

Tagliata Di Filletto Alla Griglia
This Scotch Fillet Beef was cooked to perfection, thinly sliced and was served on a bed of mixed wild mushrooms and rocket all adding great texture to the whole dish.
Desserts

Tiramisu
Wow now this was a coffee lovers dream as it was massive, creamy and tasted amazing.

Baileys Panna Cotta
A smooth creamy panna cotta with a hint of Baileys taste. It was covered in a tangy fruit sauce which was nice and sweet but I felt it did not work with this dessert. I think chocolate or a Baileys sauce would of worked better.

Banoffee Pie
I love banoffee pie and this one was amazing. This was an excellent one with a crunchy base, sweet condensed milk layer, fresh tasty bananas and finished with a creamy cheese topping layered with chocolate sauce.
Vivamente Consigliato (highly recommend)

We had a pleasant evening with great service, fantastic food and all within a very lovely surrounding. So if you love Italian food then I highly recommend Venerdi.

Thank you to Venerdi for letting me (Joanne) and some other members of Love Pop Ups London come down to taste real authentic Italian homemade dishes. This experience was complimentary from them but all views are my own honest opinion.
