Allas Yummy Food

Alla is a Russian/Latvian chef and food blogger of 5 years who is the founder for Allas Ymmy Food and provides cookery classes as well as Supperclub evenings for those who want to discover about Russian food.

So if you love have ever wanted to learn how to make Russian dumplings, mirror glaze a cake or love supper clubs then you’ll love Alla’s Yummy Food.

“We made an absolute ton of dumplings. I couldn’t believe how many we managed to prepare with the ingredients. Alla explained that they are great to batch make, and then freeze so you can defrost them and have a quick, easy dinner.”

The Blind Phoenix

The Blind Phoenix is a 1930’s wizard-themed speakeasy bar. Wizards and witches alike can pop into this bar and cackle away whilst making and enjoying some magical potions sorry I mean cocktails.

Want to feel like a witch or wizard making drinkable potions? then I highly recommend visiting The Bling Phoenix.

Play Dead London

Play Dead London is an interactive theatrical extravaganza, where the audience play the detectives and solve the murder by digging for clues through watching the interactions between the characters and getting their hands dirty by interviewing the shady suspects themselves.

Can you be a super sleuth and solve the murder mystery?

“In terms of storyline,  it is a murder mystery set in the year 2024 at a school for superhero kids and each cast member or ‘parent’ is a suspect! Hence P.O.S.K.A aka Parents OSuper Kids Association”

National Cafe – Peyton & Byrne

If you love art galleries and food then you’ll love National Cafe.

At present the National Cafe in the National Gallery have a menu which is based on the Spanish artist Sorolla. Take your mind to the world of Spain whilst enjoying delicious dishes which look like a piece of art.

“I opted for the smoked ham and manchego croquettes, pimento aioli to start. And it was a win across the table! Little nuggets of heaven, these were soft cheesy ham and potato filling with a crispy outside.”

KitchenAid 100 years celebratory event

KitchenAid was founded back in 1886 by Josephine Cochrane who revolutionized the world of cooking.  KitchenAid is known for their top quality appliances and this year they are celebrating 100 years.

They held a pop up to celebrate their 100 year anniversary and displayed their limited edition range.

Which appliance would you find the most useful in the kitchen?

“Upon entering the final room upstairs there were waiters going around with canapes, mixologists ready to make cocktails from our chosen scents, a wall of KitchenAid appliances from the limited edition Queen of Hearts and an ice cream man making ice cream via using a KitchenAid mixer.”

Flabbergast – The Swell Mob

Flabbergast brings to London for a limited time an immersive theatre show which of The Swell Mob which gives audiences an explosive immersive theatrical experience, as dark as it is fun. Theatre goes will adventure into the murky world of dandies and deception, in this delightful, provocative and utterly immersive theatre experience.

“I swiftly spent all my starting money on a ticket to the boxing match, and a little bet on the cards. Not left with enough money to place a bet on the boxers, I struck a deal to sell a lock of my hair to the taxidermist (she actually did snip a little of my hair off) in return for a five pound wager on the boxer I was previously recommended to bet on.”

Gingerline

Gingerline has been around since 2010 and has been giving great pop up dining experiences ever since from their classic Gingerline experience through to Chamber of Flavours.

On a Gingerline adventure no matter which one you go along to you will experiences a fusion of art, performance, food, drink and design, taking intrepid diners on an absurdist adventure like no other.

During Gingerline The Grand Expedition they took diners up, up and away diners through a journey like no other whilst dining on a 5 course set menu whilst immersing all through a 180 minute multi-media experience within an elaborate set design, being entertained via dancers, listening to a story, and being immersed.

“We left saying we want to return to the next and were gutted we had missed out on previous events over the past few years. I really haven’t been this impressed with an immersive dining experience in London in a very long time and it’s something we love to do.”

Pleasance Theatre – Night of the Living Dead

Based on George A. Romero’s unparalleled 1968 film, Pleasance Theatre brings to their stage one of the most iconic and influential releases of all time, Night of the Living Dead Live!

“For maximum immersion, you can choose to “get amongst the gore’ and the heart of the action in the ‘splatter zone’ with an onstage seat to watch the performance happening all around you. I had one of these seats and I’d thoroughly recommend the rare close-up experience they afford, though you will need to pay a little more for the privilege.”

Dinner is Coming Served

Based on Game of Thrones The Vaults brings to London Dinner is Coming.

A marriage between the heir of the Several Kingdoms, Jaffery Bearathon is set to marry Margarine, the beautiful daughter of the noble Trywell family. For a fee you’ll be able to eat, drink, laugh and celebrate with them and other Lords and Ladies.

But be warned: should there be murder in the air, you will be forced to choose a Kingdom: you must pledge your allegiance to the rightful heir to the throne.

To which sigil are you truly loyal? Because your loyalty will have some very real consequences to your dinner plans.

“Whilst we dined, familiar characters (with a comedic twist) made their way round the tables, trying to convince us to support them in claiming the throne. There was the deceased King’s uncle, Jimmy Bannister, backed by his sister, Kirsti, the Queen of Easteros, or Carly-Z with her threatening dragons, or maybe Maragrine deserves the throne.”

Banquet of Hoshena

Tthe Banquet of Hoshena is an innovative dining concept that brings illusionary and a feast for all your the senses. You’ll be transported to an imaginary land where flavours and emotions are intrinsically linked and Kings & Queens, fairies and volcanoes come alive on the table.  

​This is a one-of-a-kind dining experience which takes diners on a journey through a mystical land known as Hoshena. As the dinner starts and the lights dim, the Queen of Hoshena tells guests of a once-green and luscious kingdom that has banished bad emotions, such as anger, sadness and fear and as a result, removed love, happiness and courage leaving the land bare, dark and empty.

During the show, you’ll dine on five courses accompanied by wine and cocktail pairings with the food perfectly corresponding with the story. Accompanying the menu are clever props, sounds, illusions and scents, allowing guests to whisper their fears into a pouch, light a magic candle and create confusion with dry ice.

If you love bingo you will love Players which is a social bingo experience. Based within Mecca Bingo Hall in Camden on Thursady and Saturdays you’ll be able listen to live music, enjoy cabaret style entertainment, drink curated cocktails, enjoy some delicious street food, and enjoy a good old game of bingo but instead of just winning money you can also win a prize or two such as a kayak.

“Unlike my previous experience with bingo, this one kept things traditional with standard bingo sheets used throughout. One line, two lines and a full house won you cash along with some prizes. The prizes were pretty great on this night with an inflatable boat, fridge and drone on offer.”

Scripts for Supper

Scripts for Supper is a theatrical dining experience where the actors double up as waiters and the food brings you into the world of the play.

Created by Annie McKenzie who is an actor, writer, director and chef, she graduated from the MA Acting course at East 15 in 2013, ahead of her appearance on the BBC’s MasterChef in 2016. Annie is passionate about creating devised, collaborative and organic work, and retelling classic stories in an original and dynamic way. Her adaptations for the company include Twelfth Night, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Wind in the Willows and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. She has also written her own solo show, Happiness is a Cup of Tea, and recently appeared on Home Front on Radio 4.

This Spring diners can be taken into the world of Wind in the Willows where you’ll be able to enjoy a reenacted story telling adventure on a farm via Mole, Ratty, Toad and Badger.

“With Masterchef semi-finalist Juanita Hennessey cooking up the menu, I expected the food to be of high quality.  As always, I am very honest about my reviews, so believe me when I say the food was incredible! Every single dish was beautifully presented, exquisitely cooked, and perfectly portioned. “

“The venue itself is very oppulent, if a bit on the small side with low ceilings, the team have definitely made the most of it. Low lighting and the large screen behind the stage took care of the rest.”

Trinity Buoy

Trinity Buoy brings jazz, dance and performances over the next coming months.

So if you love Jazz and a variety of performances then you’ll love their upcoming events.

“It was happy, buoyant jazz that felt like it was really celebrating something, and I loved how global the band were! Quite like the diverseness of London, each musician bringing their own special instrument, sound and cultural background to the mix.”

DotDot War of the Worlds

Travel back in time to HG Wells Victoria England and be part of the martians invasion of 1898.

Watch as Tom Brittney, Anna-Marie Wayne and Carrie Hope Fletcher fight the martians.

Adventurers will walk through a VR experience like no other for 110 minute of pure adventure which covers 22,000 square feet of immersivness from adventuring through common Victorian London to taking to the high seas.

Question is will you be brave enough to take on the martians.

“With the help of soldiers and the navy we are placed in boats to flee the attack from the Martians. There was water, wind and a chill in the air, as sailed the high seas in this epic escape.”

KidZania is an indoor city where kids can experience what it would be like to be say a Doctor, Dentist, Police Officer, Firefighter, Actor, the list goes on. As this is a world for kids.

Certain dates throughout the year KidZania have adult nights so adults can experience a variety of jobs.

Which job would you like to try out?

“The idea behind KidZania is your children to able to get a fun insight into the adult world of working by taking part in their choice of jobs. Some of the jobs will cost the children KidZos, the currency used within KidZania and some will help them to earn a salary. You kick off your journey with 50 KidZos and when your children have earned themselves 75 kidZos they can open a bank account to get their very own bank card which can be used in cash points around KidZania.”

Fabulous 698 B provides dinners an innovative night of food which are all made using British produce giving diners unexpected flavours and combinations.

“Rocky type music came blaring out of the speakers and Maja and Guillaume came running in and made the dessert right in front of our eyes, which was a real explosion of food giving us a theatrical display like no other. With a squirt there, a throw here and a dollop there an Eton mess was made right in front of us by Maja and Guillaume whilst they were also dancing away to rocky music.  Seriously there was sauce flying everywhere and sparklers galore.”

Eleven98 Hackney

Aidan of Eleven98 Hackney loves to bring social fine dining using foraged, grown and locally sourced food from within Hackney.

So if you are looking for a supper club with a difference then this is one to attend. You will leave happy and thinking of ways you can change the way you eat and source your food.

“The final dish was exquisite. It was the finale of the menu called Coconut & coffee, a study in contrast. These two flavours may have contrasted as stated but they also complimented each other so well too. I couldn’t fault this dish or any of the elements that created it. The coconut was a sort of foam/mousse and I need more of this in my life. It was so incredible, especially when paired with the crumbs. I’m going to be thinking about this for a while. “
