A look back at November 2019 – Community fun

This article is a look back at the amazing experiences which various community members of Love Pop Ups London enjoyed and helped spread the word about during November 2019 on a complimentary basis.

November 2019 a look back

Winterland Alpine Club

Celebrate festivities this month and enter into a world of an Alpine paradise.

Within Winterland Alpine Club you’ll be able to enjoy mulled wine around a fire pit, on a glass of Prosecco in a hot tub whilst gazing at the stars, dance the night away to the tunes of the DJ or just sit back and chill on a sofa under a heated pergola.

“Get into the festive spirit and warm with bit of mulled wine and some food or in the hot tub looking into the Thames”

Gemma

A bunch of community members of Love Pop Ups London went along to enjoy festive food, tipples and entertainment. Click here to read our write ups.

Seven Crofts Gin

Seven Crofts Gin held a pop up giving all a chance to taste Gin, Gin and more Gin.

“We sampled some of the gin based cocktails conjured up by master mixologist Zoe and Bruce of Fam Bar including the Classic Gin Martini”

Geeta

Red Palace

At Red Palace you will take a journey full of mystery and wonderous dark fairy tales. Join the Prince and his fairy tale guests in a living labyrinth and enjoy a decadent evening of opulence and merriment, witness the beautiful, the brilliant, the wanton, the bizarre.

Follow the breadcrumbs, and don’t lose your way.

Who would you like to bump into?

Red Palace

“The dessert was a crowning glory. These salted caramel toffee apples were served on a bed of cocoa nibs, with coconut flakes and popping candy on the side! Refreshing, delicious a great way to end a meal. I am sure Red Riding Hood would have murdered for as it was red, sweet and delicious.”

What would you love to see which Tutankhamen owned?

Tutankhamun Gemma and me

“This exhibition was a wonder and made me think of what it must of been like for this young King to have such a huge responsibility and be surrounded by such luxury.”

I went along and walked like an Egyptian discovering hidden secrets and treasures of the great Egyptian King Tutankhamen. Click here to read my write up.

The Famous Curry Bazaar

The Famous Curry Bazaar provide diners traditional Indian cuisine with an extensive menu consisting of a variety of Indian dishes and wines from around the world.

What curry would you order if you went?

The Famous Curry Bazaar

“Plus with all dishes from their menu ranging from traditional Indian dishes each with a South Eastern twist, and being inexpensive in comparison to some curry houses would make me consider dining back here.”

Joanne of Love Pop Ups London

I and another community members of Love Pop Ups London we tucked into a curry within Curry Bazaar which is one of the many curry houses that line Brick Lane famous for curries. Click here to read our write ups.

Moonpig

Moonpig bring a personal touch to anyone’s cards and gifts. They held a press night to celebrate and promote about what they do and how they have reached over 100 million people. Moonpig is not just about cards, they are also about personalised gifts and flowers.

Who is special to you whom you would personalise a card to?

“After having such a merry time and now slightly tipsy we moved onto creating our own Moonpig card. To make our card we stood in front of a green screen first of all so I just had to get Santa involved.”

Joanne of Love Pop Ups London

I went along and jingled with Santa and made some cocktails. Here’s to many more years creating and personalising cards using Moonpigs who are the biggest selling personalised card supplier. Click here to read my write up.

Dirty Plate

Within Dirty Plate you’ll be able to smash a chocolate bomb or two but which will get you jumping for joy. So pop on in grab a hammer and get smashing. Choose from five flavoured balls and discover the sweet delights within them.

Which would you choose?

“The first one was a milk chocolate wonder. Upon smashing it open and literally chocolate flying everywhere I could smell the aroma of the rich chocolate and fudgy notes wafting up my nostrils.”

Joanne of Love Pop Ups London

I and another community members of Love Pop Ups London we had a smashing good time exploding our chocolate bombs with our mini hammer. Click here to read our write ups.

Escape from Planet Trash

It’s 2050 and in a galaxy not too far from our own, Planet Trash is the most dangerous place in the solar system – the dumping ground for the universe.

As the countdown to Christmas begins, the planet faces a new danger, an impending solar flare that threatens to obliterate Planet Trash, and a discarded weapon the Intergalactic Government is desperate to retrieve. All that stands between Planet Trash and complete annihilation is a crack team of unlikely queer space explorers, and Ginger Johnson, the last remaining resident of the doomed planet, who is refusing to return home.

Question is what will happen?

“ Ginger Johnson in particular is a real star and it’s a pure joy whenever she takes to the stage.  It’s laugh out funny and completely tongue in cheek, one character is a litteral, and I mean a litteral piece of shit, what more can I say then that!”

Kariss

A small group of community members of Love Pop Ups London went along to watch the adventures of characters who live on The Planet Trash. Click here to read our write ups.

Mad Hatter

Tumble down the rabbit hole and experience a wacky fun immersive 1.5 hour-long cocktail theatre experience with the Mad Hatter and Co.

Which character would you like to create a gin based cocktail with?

“It’s a very fun take on the story while keeping true to the spirit of Alice. I have to say that I was well entertained and curious to see how things were going to end up.”

Steve

I and a small group of community members of Love Pop Ups London we enjoyed a merry time with the Mad Hatter and Co. sipping Gin cocktails and nibbling on canapes. Click here to read our write ups.

Cinderella

This adult pantomime brings a unique twist on the classic tale of Cinderella which you’ll see all characters you know, love and hate colliding in a local boozer. You’ll be welcomed to the heart of the action to witness pints spilled, mates pulled and hearts poured out on the karaoke.

Crammed with live music, mayhem and a touch of midnight magic, Cinderella will have you dancing in the aisles and laughing your baubles off. Think The Royle Family meets Elf, in a bespoke pub theatre within The Vaults complex beneath Waterloo station.

Will Cinders go to the ball, or should I say the pub party?

“If you like karaoke then this show will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit. This musical is a modern take on the Cinderella classic, with songs (some festive) throughout the show.”

Roshni

I and a small group of community members of Love Pop Ups London we were invited to party with Cinders & Co. Click here to read our write ups.

Act of God

This very alternative Christmas message, An Act of God sees a dissatisfied deity, weary of the original Ten Commandments, delivering a new version: a fresh set of rules for the modern world. This sinfully funny comedy delivers a new meaning to divine intervention as The “One” gives the first and last word on everything mankind has wrought on the planet.

What would you change if you were God?

Humours night”

Hans & Gretel

Hans & Gretel brings a shop full of magical candy to Camden, where you’ll feel the sugar rush just from stepping within.

Release your inner child and create your own Chimney Cake from the many ice cream flavours and sweet toppings which is their signature dessert.

What will you choose?

Stepping within Hans & Gretel my inner child was released as I felt like a big kid in a candy store but a magical one. There is candies for everyone from hard candies to wine gums along with homemade ice cream and cake.”
