For the sixth year Cinnamon Kitchen celebrates Holi in the City. Holi is an Indian festival of colour and is a way to celebrate the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring.

For a limited time during 4 – 15 March 2020 you can celebrate Holi at Cinnamon Kitchen in the City party pod.

Sitting amongst the skyscrapers and the concrete, Cinnamon Kitchen, in association with UK’s No.1 Indian beer Cobra, brings to London a vibrant injection of colour to the urban environs of the City with the return of their purpose-built party pod directly outside Vivek Singh’s modern Indian restaurant in Devonshire Square.

This year Cinnamon Kitchen are giving back; create your own colourful artwork on canvas in the paint pod, from £5. All proceeds from the paintings and £1 from every Holi menu will be donated to Find Your Feet, helping families in Africa and Asia build a life free from poverty.

Fun with colour in the City

Arriving at Cinnamon Kitchen for the press launch evening before donning on white suits to celebrate Holi within the tropical garden complete with vibrant blooms we sipped on award winning Franklin & Sons soda’s, tonics and mixers by them all whilst eating a selection of street-food style small plates by Vivek Singh.

Settling in we had a quick meet and greet with Vivek Singh before sampling the tasty delights on offer.

Chef Vivek adds a modern twist to traditional dishes by creating great and exciting fusions yet keeping those core ingredients.

All the food was packed full of flavour and ever so tasty.

The dish though which stood out to me in particular was the Kerala salmon curry with lemon rice.

The rice was tangy and the sauce was creamy along with a very moist, succulent fish which literally fell apart.

Franklin & Sons drinks on the night were also all really tasty.

This is of the Black Forest Blush which was every so zingy making it a sweet delight.

With bellies full and our thirst quenched it was now time to celebrate Holi. However before jumping into the party pod though we had a quick speech by Vivek Singh explaining more about Holi.

We were then all blessed each by Vivek.

Holi fun

It was then time for us to escape the hustle and bustle of London’s City and let loose to celebrate Holi.

Donning on our protective white suits, grabbing bags of coloured powder we stepped into the party pod where we celebrated within a colourful world of madness pelting each other for thirty minutes with powder.

The inner child in me was released and at the end of it I looked like when I was a child when I used to cover myself in paint.

Verdict

This was my first time in celebrating Holi and I loved it. I came out looking like a colourful unicorn and headed on back home on the train looking like this. I got many odd looks.

Only thing I do say is be careful not to get in your eyes and in your mouth when celebrating Holi as it does not taste very nice.

Holi truly is the perfect antidote to escape the dull days of the office. Kick off your heels, loosen your ties, and experience the spectacular paint throwing festivities that mark the renowned Indian festival of colour at Cinnamon Kitchen.
