Jackpot Peanut Butter nutty spread of love

Peanut butter but not just any peanut butter a peanut butter which has no additives giving a delicious, pure flavour JACKPOT. Eat out of the tub with a spoon or add as an ingredient to your dishes.

I was gifted Jackpot Peanut Butter three different varieties on a PR basis in return for an honest review.

Jackpot Peanut Butter

Jackpot Peanut Butter is founded by APN’s Rupert Leigh, along with Dave Ridings and Richard Smith, both of whom are in music and fashion promotion.

Starting out as a fictional brand, a logo on the now infamous T-shirt, Jackpot was never really supposed to exist. But then Rupert Leigh (Founder) thought, why not start making the peanut butter? and it took off.

The three men got together and decided to make a premium peanut butter which is made from rapeseed oil, double-roasted U.S. runner peanuts and is made with no additives resulting in pure deliciousness.

Jackpot currently offers authentic American peanut butter, original, wasabi and raspberry all made in the UK. Jackpot also offers apparel, sweatshirts and T-shirts.

All of their peanut butter uses premium U.S. runner peanuts from cooperatives in Georgia and the Virginia’s which gives a naturally sweeter flavour, all Jackpot all natural peanuts are roasted, use only rapeseed oil, and a little salt. No additives, no sugar and absolutely no palm oil is used within any. resulting in pure deliciousness.

Plus Jackpot Peanut Butter is in partnership with the Music Venues Trust. As their social mission is to grow and strengthen grassroots music culture by supporting The Music Venue Trust. Environmentally they are pioneering a new closed loop re-usable packaging concept, designing out waste in the process. By buying a pot of Jackpot, you will be supporting your local music venue…A donation from sales of their peanut butter will be made to The Music Venue Trust; which acts to protect, secure and improve UK Grassroots Music Venues.

Jackpot is a launch brand for the first ever LOOP. It’s essentially a whole new way to shop, where you buy products in packaging that can be returned, washed and refilled. Loop brings together brands, big and small and retailers with the idea of shifting from a model that is disposable (where packaging is thrown away or recycled after use) to one that is durable (where packaging is reused, and any leftover product is either recycled or reused).

Jackpot bingo

I was gifted 500g tubs of each of Jackpot peanut butters of their original, wasabi and raspberry to enjoy at home. The original tub I even had personalised for me LPUL Love’s which can be purchased via clicking here. However be wanrned the personalised jars are for 18 and over due to the swearing on the tub.

Pure NUTliciousness

Each tasted as great as each other.

The original is is a nutty delight with a creamy texture with nutty bits. Based on an American recipe using just three ingredients of American runner peanuts (from Georgia and Virginia), salt, rapeseed oil it’s no wonder it it NUTlicious.

The wasabi was created back in 2017 as they could not find any other peanut butter manufacturer who produced one using wasabi. This peanut butter has the right of of pure peanut butter…and then the wasabi giving it that kick. Just like the original peanut butter this one contains the added wasabi seasoning (rice flour, sugar, natural flavouring, mustard, yeast extract, onions,  mustard seed, horseradish, sunflower oil, wasabi, extract of rosemary).

The raspberry version is a fruity delight giving the peanut butter that extra tanginess from the raspberries. This has the added ingredient of dried raspberries (5%) and dark muscovado sugar (1%).

However rather than just dipping my spoon in each I decided to make a few delicious dishes with my peanut butter which I found online.

Jackpot peanut butter chicken

Gnarly Peanut Chicken by Jamie Oliver

Ingredients

  • 2 x 120 g free-range skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 limes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 heaped tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1-2 fresh red chillies

Method

  1. Turn the grill on to medium-high.
  2. Score the chicken breasts in a criss-cross fashion, rub with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, a pinch of sea salt and black pepper and the finely grated zest of 1 lime.
  3. Place criss-cross side down in a cold 26cm non-stick ovenproof frying pan and put it on a medium-high heat, while you peel and finely grate the garlic into a bowl.
  4. Squeeze in the juice from 1½ limes, stir in the peanut butter and loosen with enough water to give you a spoonable consistency.
  5. Finely slice the chilli, then mix (as much as you dare!) through the sauce, taste and season to perfection.
  6. Flip the chicken over, spoon over the sauce, then transfer to the grill, roughly 10cm from the heat, for 5 minutes, or until gnarly and cooked through.
  7. Finely grate over the remaining lime zest, then drizzle with 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil. Serve with lime wedges, for squeezing over.

This chicken dish is a so simple to make with just five ingredients but yet takes amazing with a kick from the chilli, zestiness of the lime and the tasty peanut butter making you want more and more. A great dish to jazz up any chicken.

Joannes Trio delight of Peanut Butter Biscuits (my recipe)

  • 3/4 c rolled oats
  • 1/2 plain flour
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • pinch sea salt
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp raspberry peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp wasabi peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp original peanut butter

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, stir together the oats, caster sugar, flour, baking powder and salt until combined. Add in the maple syrup, coconut oil and vanilla extract and mix until combined. Add in the water 1 tablespoon at a time while mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Roll into approx 12 evenly sized balls. It helps if you wet your hands a bit before. Use your fingertips press them flat. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until edges start to brown.
  4. Once cooled lay each cookie on it’s back so the bottom is facing up. Spoon a tablespoon of one of the three peanut butters into the centre of the bottom of a cookie. Then pop on top another cookie to make a sandwich. Once done all the cookies in this way they will be read to serve.

My recipe gives a cookie that results in a great crunch but also a soft texture then hit with an explosion of the peanut butter. A cookie monsters dream.

Which dish appealed to you the most?

Dress for the occasion

Apart from selling Peanut Butter they also sell t-shirts and a sweatshirt.

Why as Jackpot’s humble origins started out as a fictional logo on a t-shirt of their skate brand APN (a public nuisance).

They sell 100% organic cotton t-shirts a original style and radio edit version, each still with the same jackpot values.

They even sell a sweatshirt

Verdict

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Jackpot peanut butter is one of the very best peanut butters I have ever tasted and was really good knowing that all their peanuts are all natural plus that only a little salt and rapeseed oil is used within, no palm oil. .

So if you are looking for a great tasting natural peanut butter then I highly recommend Jackpot peanut butter as eating their peanut butter you will feel like you have hit the JACKPOT from the flavour, texture and knowing feeling that everything is all nature, no artificial additives.
