Sweet discs of edible happiness
Hilton Macarons sell a range of assorted boxes from Classic or Rainbow macarons which come in sizes of 6, 12 & 18.
I was sent a box of 18 which contained all of their current varieties as some of their flavours are only available for limited times throughout the year, whilst others are available all year round.

My box contained eighteen macarons selected from the following flavours: Pistachio, Chocolate, Raspberry, Coffee, Violet, Liquorice, Passion fruit Chocolate, Orange Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Vanilla, Rose, Fresh Mint, Strawberry, Lemon, Mojito, and Hazelnut.
Each were so cute in size and all stunning in colour making me think of rainbows. All were equally tasty with a lovely crunch followed by a slightly chewy centre which was not overly sweet making it a pleasure to eat.
The Pistachio macaron thick, creamy, nutty and earthy in taste.
The Chocolate macaron simply chocolate, creamy and tasty as it contains 45% cacao Belgian chocolate ganache.
The Raspberry was citrussy in flavour as they use real raspberries within it. The white chocolate also used within the ganache gave it a great balance giving a creaminess.
The Coffee macaron is bold in taste giving a real explosion of coffee. For their coffee they used Taylor of Harrogate’s Hot Lava Java.
The Violet macaron was creamy with a sweet taste of violet which they use syrup and essence of violet to bring that subtle and lingering hit.
The Liquorice macaron is creamy with a great aniseed and liquorice taste.
The Passionfruit Chocolate macaron is creamy, yet punchy with the sharpness of the passion fruit followed by a hit of rich milk chocolate giving a wonderful tasty ganache.
Their Orange Chocolate macaron is a citrus hit giving a bitter-sweet moment. A delicious concoction of chocolate, orange liqueur and orange zest.
Their Salted Caramel macaron is made with butter cream rather than ganache and give a wonderful sweet and salty taste.
Their Vanilla macaron is made using Madagascan vanilla which gave a rich and creamy taste that perfectly complimented the Belgian white chocolate ganache.
The Rose macaron is like eating a Turkish Delight as it has a strong flavour of rose was which is made from rose syrup and rose essence a little piece of Turkish Delight heaven but in the form of a macaron.
The Fresh Mint macaron is made with Crème de Menthe liqueur giving a powerful green colour and a punchy maximum mint hit.
The Strawberry macaron is highly flavoursome giving a taste of strawberries and cream.
The Lemon macaron provides a creamy, light, and the sharp tanginess pure bliss.
The Mojito macaron provided the right balance of sweetness of the sugar, the citrus zing of lime and the fresh, herbaceous mint basically Mojito in form on a macaron.
The Hazelnut is similar to a Ferrero Rocher as provided a crunchy outer shell and the ganache within was cream and provided a real hazelnut and praline explosion, a nutty delight.
