Troo Cocktails truly tasty premade cocktails to enjoy at home

Even though pubs and cocktail bars are reopening after this world pandemic we have been through it is always nice to sometimes have a cheeky little tipple at home and Troo Cocktails provide some high quality premixed cocktails.

I was kindly given some PR samples to try at home and all were truly so tantalising a true delight, delicious.

Troo Cocktails

The Troo Cocktails Team has years of experience managing bars, pubs and restaurants, which means they understand what their business needs are.

Troo mixologists bring together a magical formula, as they are mixologists whom have decades of mixology experience, and has a wealth of knowledge from working within the wider drinks industry. This has Troo Cocktails identify the lack of quality premixed cocktails within the market and thus have come up with their own solution… Troo Cocktails.

From the late eighties and nineties, through the noughties and to where we are today, Troo Cocktail team has gained an invaluable amount of experience in covering drinks trends in both the on-trade and off-trade. Over the recent years they have seen the gin revolution, the craft ale rebellion and fever tree’s swift uprising. However, this is nothing new, drinking habits have been changing since time began.

Their cocktails bring solutions to consumers to enjoy perfect high end, premium cocktails at home with minimal fuss. Just open, shake up in a mixer with ice and pour, simple.

Their cocktails are born from simplistic values:

  • High end premium ingredients
  • Internationally recognised mixologists
  • They have love and respect for every single bottle they produce

They stay true to their core values, so you stay Troo to their cocktails!

Time for cocktails

It’s true sipping on a cup of tea or mug of coffee at home sometimes just does not cut it, so a cheeky tipple is sometimes required and Troo Cocktails make it super easy. Crack open a bottle, pour some drink into a shaker with ice, shake, pour into glass and sip, night sorted in time to snuggle up and watch a film or whilst chatting on ZOOM with your friends.

TROO taste

It’s true the taste of Troo is truly tantalising. I was gifted a bottle of their Espresso Martini and some smaller bottles of their Negroni, Pornstar Martini, and Margarita all of which were so delicious and satisfying.

Troo Espresso Martini upon opening the bottle did not just smell heavenly of coffee but had notes of vanilla. Half filling a cocktail shaker with ice I poured 125ml of Espresso Martini into it and shook vigorously until cold before straining into a martini glass. Their Espresso Martini Troo is made from premium grain vodka, freshly brewed Italian espresso (ground and brewed by themselves), a premium Mexican coffee liquor and a small amount of their home-made sugar syrup. Gave a smooth, creamy Espresso Martini giving an explosion of coffee.

It is the BEST pre-made bottled Espresso Martini I have ever had at home. Highly recommend.

Troo desserts

Also with my bottle of Troo Espresso Martini I made a few dishes with it as I love adding drink into my cooks and bakes.

Espresso Martini Tiramisu

Serves 6

  • 4 free-range eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 125g/4½oz caster sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 115g/4oz plain flour
  • 1 tbsp instant espresso coffee powder
  • 400ml/14fl oz double cream
  • 250g/9oz mascarpone
  • 4 tbsp Troo Espresso Martini
  • 60g/2oz amaretti biscuits
  • 20g/¾oz cocoa powder

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C/170C Fan/Gas 5 and line three 18cm/7in cake tins with greaseproof paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks, vanilla and half the sugar together for 5 minutes, or until very pale.
  3. In a large, glass bowl, whisk the egg whites using an electric whisk, slowly adding the remaining sugar and the salt until they hold soft peaks. Gently fold the whites into the yolks. Sift and fold in the flour.
  4. Fill the tins equally with the mixture and bake for 15 minutes, or until firm to the touch and golden-brown.
  5. Carefully remove the cakes from their tins, discard the paper and leave to cool on a wire rack.
  6. Mix the Troo Espresso Martini with 200ml/7fl oz boiling water, leave to cool, then brush both sides of the sponge with the coffee.
  7. In a medium bowl, using a handheld whisk, mix a little of the cream with the mascarpone until smooth. Add the remaining cream, Troo Espresso Martini whisking until slightly stiffened.
  8. Place the amaretti biscuits with half the cocoa powder in a food processor and blend to make a crumb.
  9. To serve, place a layer of sponge in an 18cm/7in glass trifle bowl, spread with a half the cream mixture and top with half the amaretti-cocoa crumbs. Repeat this process with a second layer of sponge, cream and crumbs. Finish with the final sponge and a dusting of cocoa powder.

This recipe I found via BBC Food in which I altered slightly as I used my Troo Espresso Martini cocktail within. It provided a powerful adult version with a hit of Espresso Martini with every spoonful, buzzing.

Espresso Martini Panna Cotta

Serves 2

  • 1 leave gelatine
  • 60ml Troo Espresso Martini
  • 100ml double cream
  • 60ml milk
  • 35g Fairtrade light brown soft sugar
  • 50ml Troo Espresso Martini
  • 25ml light brown soft sugar
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 leave gelatine

  1. Soak the gelatine in a bowl of cold water for 5 minutes. Put the Espresso Martini, double cream, milk, and light brown sugar in a pan over a low heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, then take off the heat. Squeeze the water from the gelatine, add to the pan and mix until dissolved.
  2. Ladle the mixture into 2 martini glasses, then carefully transfer to the fridge for 6 hours, or until set.
  3. To make the Espresso Martini syrup, simmer the Espresso Martini, light brown sugar and cocoa powder in a pan over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is thick and syrupy. Allow to cool. Just before serving, top each glass with a little of the syrup.
  4. Alternatively if you want a set syrup add after heated the syrup, allow to cool slightly then pour in your set panna cottas and refrigerate for a few hours to set.

Taking this panna cotta of cooked cream a step further I transformed it into a very adult dessert by using Troo Espresso Martini. Gave a very creamy taste along with an explosion of Espresso Martini, moorish and tasty. Great for dinner parties with friends.

Espresso Martini Granita

Serves 2

  • 120ml Troo Espresso Martini
  • 2 glasses of ice

  1. Pour Espresso Martini in a blender along with the ice.
  2. Blitz.
  3. Pour in a glass.

An adult iced slush giving a true hit of Espresso Martini. Who needs one of those iced coffees?.

Which recipe appealed to you the most?

The other cocktails from Troo Cocktails which I received was a small bottle of their Negroni, Pornstar Martini and Margarita.

Which to taste first decisions, decisions…

Troo Negroni

Troo Negroni is a popular Italian cocktail which is an acquired taste. Pouring over a glass of ice and stirring for 20 seconds it was time to sip. Negroni is a mixture of Gin, Vermouth and Campari. It is slightly a bitter cocktail with a herby, liquorice and fruity taste. Not sure if it was for me as I am not keen on liquorice but was certainly different. If you love liquorice though then I would recommend this as it was smooth and refreshing.

Troo Pornstar Martini

Troo Pornstar Martini is for those who love sharp fruity cocktails. Filling half a cocktail shaker with ice, I poured in the Pornstar Martini and shook vigorously until the shaker became cold. Then I strained into a martini glass. Their Pornstar Martini is made with premium vanilla vodka, passoa, passion-fruit juice, freshly squeezed lime juice and a dash of their own vanilla infused sugar syrup this cocktail did not disappoint. The colour is beautiful and the smell as well as the taste was so sweet, a sweet fruity explosion.

Troo Margarita is for Tequila lovers out there. Half filling a cocktail shaker with ice I poured and shook vigorously until shake was cold before straining into a glass. Their margarita is made with 100% Blue agave Tequila (a mix of both blanco and reposado). Provides a bitter citrus lime taste giving a sweet and sourness.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Troo cocktails are the best pre-made cocktails which I have ever had at home. All their cocktails use high premium ingredients giving an outstanding pour every case with exceptional taste. No matter if you like a fruity, sweet or sour cocktails you can’t go wrong with any of Troo cocktails.

I highly recommend any of Troo cocktails be it for a cheeky tipple at home, or to serve at your next meet up with friends / family or even as a special date night drink what ever you decide you’ll always get that perfect pour and true taste of a perfect mixed cocktail.
