Port Royal
Port Royal is a Jamaican family-run business, founded by Kingstonian Edward Johnston, and has been making & selling authentic patties since 2005 giving consumers the most popular Jamaican street food to enjoy at home.
Their patties are developed using traditional recipes using aromatic herbs and spices from Jamaica. Port Royal patties all once cooked gives a golden, flaky pastry crust that crumbles in your mouth. Each patty with each bite will transport you to the markets of Jamaica.
Port Royal patties can be ordered online for home delivery or can be purchased within supermarkets, independent stores, schools and leading Caribbean restaurants. Port Royal have trade accreditations from the Vegetarian Society, The Halal Society, SALSA and COMPASS.
Taste of Jamaica Patties at home
I was gifted their Spicy Vegetable and Spicy Beef patties to enjoy at home. They all came beautifully packaged within a colourful sleeve making me instantly think of the Caribbean.
Easy as pie all I had to do was un-sleeve and unwrap the patty and place on a baking tray and pop into a preheated oven 180C (350F) or Gas Mark 4 and cook for approximately 20 minutes until golden. If frozen cook for 25 minutes instead.
Alternatively you can cook the patties in a microwave for 60 seconds if you are in a hurry or at work.
The Port Royal Spicy Vegetable patty is a great patty designed for vegans in mind packed with vegetables of carrots, peas, potatoes, and sweet corn and loaded with hot pepper sauce made with scotch bonnet peppers giving it that extra fiery kick. Flaky, buttery, spicy, vegetable wonder.
The Port Royal Beef patty is a true Jamaican classic. Loaded with British beef combined with aromatic herbs and scotch bonnet pepper, giving it that fiery kick. A flaky spicy beefy delight.

Verdict
A great fresh yet spicy buttery patty which can easily be cooked at home or at work. Perfect for a snack, lunch or dinner.
All of their patty’s did not disappoint with the fresh tasty fillings used within and the flaky buttery pastry crust. The great beauty though about these patty’s are that they can be placed in the freezer and cooked from frozen.
