We all love a snack throughout the day or even a naughty midnight snack however it can be hard to choose from the many different snacks out there on the market as to know which crisps or nuts to pair with your pint or to enjoy whilst watching a Christmas movie. Thanks though to Empress Ale their Great British Gastro Pub Snack Box they have made snack time choosing made easy with their box of delicious made Savoursmiths crisps and Serious Pig snacks.
I was gifted a gastro pub box courtesy of Empress Ale to enjoy at home during this festive season along with some Celia lager.
Empress Ale
Founded by Surj Virk Empress Ale took many months of testing, tasting, tweaking, working with chefs, restaurateurs and award winning brewers to bring an ale of British and Indian influences together. Empress Ale was then born 2016 bringing to the market a premium craft British pale ale that’s smooth, light and easy-drinking.
Empress Ale is brewed in an award-winning brewery in London by chefs and restaurateurs Empress Ale has been designed to be enjoyed on any occasion, leaving you craving for more after every sip. They use the finest natural ingredients, which are sourced locally where possible.
This British crafted ale was designed by the founder to be enjoyed with food within his favourite restaurants to accompliment their dishes. It is light, well-balanced with a floral and malty aroma. Which after every sip will cleanse the palate, and give a smooth citrus and hoppy taste making it incredibly refreshing and an easy drinking ale.
Since it’s launch back in 2016 Empress Ale’s reputation has spread far and wide within the Food & Beverage sector, and it is available in some of the finest Michelin starred restaurants, gastro pubs and up-and-coming eateries.
Empress Ale can also be made bought and made available for festivals, events and venues. With Empress Ale being an easy drinking ale it compliments an array of foods making it the perfect choice to have available at any indoor or outdoor event.
Empress Ale is available on draught, bottles, cans, and even plastic bottles. All their packaging is fully recyclable. For all their pints and half pint cups they use either reusable or 100% recyclable cups. Plus they can supply portable draught machines and bottle fridges for your event.
Now Empress Ale can be enjoyed with a variety of snacks thanks to very British Great British Gastro Pub Snack Box which is now available.
Plus Empress Ale sell Celia lager which is a traditional lager which is brewed in the cellars of a 14th century castle located in the historical town Žatec which is famous for growing the world renowned Saaz hop since 1004. The lager is brewed for 2 months which includes a 14 day open vat fermentation process to ensure a natural carbonation. Celia is crafted to remove gluten through a de-glutenisation process which enables the brewery to use only quality local ingredients ensuring no substitutions are required.
Snacking at home with Santa
Upon receiving my Empress Ale Great British Gastro Pub Snack Box I was excited to see many different kinds of snacks from crisps, salami and nuts. Plus the Gastro Pub Snack box comes with some Empress Ales to enjoy along with the snack with their branded glass.
The snack box consists of
- 3 x Empress Pale Ales
- 1 x Branded Tulip Glass
- 1 x 150g Savoursmiths Italian Cheese & Port Premium Crisps (MSG & Gluten Free)
- 1 x 150g Savoursmiths Wagyu Beef and Honey Mustard Premium Crisps (MSG Free, Gluten Free & Dairy Free)
- 1 x Serious Pig Pork Snackling (Smoked Bacon)
- 1 x Serious Pig Snacking Salami
- 1 x Serious Pig Cornish Sea Salt Roasted Almonds
I also enjoyed my snack box along with Santa online whilst we both enjoyed a pint of Empress Ale.
OK I lied I did not really have a special hook up with Santa but this is a scene from a Christmas movie. Which Christmas movie do you think this is from?
All the crisps were a real delight, crisp, crunchy and full of flavour. The pork snacklings golden, full of flavour and crunchy. The salami meaty, powerful and spicy. The almonds are a salty nutty treat.

The great thing though about all the snacks is that they all worked wonderfully with the Empress Ale. The Empress Ale is crisp and refreshing so after every bite of any snack the ale cleaned the palate.
Also as an extra treat I was gifted some Czech Celia gluten free lagers which they also sell. This lager is delicious, light golden, light in taste, smooth and refreshing. However the beauty about the Celia lager is that it is gluten free and vegan friendly.
Verdict
Empress Ale Gastro Pub Snack Box is a real treat for anytime of the day, plus perfect for Santa for Christmas Eve to keep his belly full on his long journey of delivering Christmas presents, but who knows he might even leave you his box?
The Empress Ale itself is a delicious, light, tasty, malty, and refreshing lager which will leave you craving for more after every sip and it certainly did do that. Empress Ale is one of the nicest ales which I have ever tasted. A very royal ale!
Plus the Celia lager is a real delight as well, refreshing and extremely light.
I Highly recommend their Gastro Snack Boxes to keep you happy and full this Christmas or anytime of the year whilst sitting back watching movies along with a pint of their refreshing ale or lager.
