Helping my mind, body and soul

Not really having ayurvedic powders before I was excited when I received my four different flavoured powders by SuperGlow. Each came within easy reseable colourful packets, which each was marked clearly in how they are good for the body or mind.

Ashwagandha is great to help fight symptoms of anxiety, street and depression and can boost brain function, lower blood sugar and cortisol levels which we all need a helping hand with.

All of their powders can be blended easily into drinks and food.

Green Supreme – Moringa

Made from organic leaves this powder provides vitamins A, C, E and contain a high amount of vitamin B12. Moringa also is a great source of potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorous and iron. It can improve iron absorption and metabolism whilst supporting eye health, hair, skin and nails.

With this Green Supreme powder I made a panna cotta.

Moringa Panna Cotta

Ingredients

  • 150ml double cream or vegan cream alternative
  • 100ml milk or coconut milk
  • 30 grams sugar
  • 1 tsp GreenSupreme – Moringa
  • 1 1/2 leaves of gelatine or alternative

Method

  1. Heat the milk and double cream gently on a low heat for a couple of minutes.
  2. If using gelatine leaves soak in bowl of cold water for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in gelatine leaves until they dissolve.
  4. Stir in GreenSupreme powder.
  5. Sieve through and pour into desired moulds.
  6. Allow to cool and refrigerate for three hours or until set.
  7. To serve, place moulds in hot water to loosen panna cotta and turn over.

It was a lovely sweet hit. It gave a creamy and nutty flavour.

Beet of my Heart – Beetroot / Tomato

Beetroot is packed with protein, folate, magnesium, manganese, potassium and vitamins B6 and C. Tomatoes are a source of vitamin A, C and K supporting the immune system, vision, skin, bones and heart function.

With the Beet of my Heart powder I created a simple easy lunch of ricotta gnocchi adding the Beetroot / Tomato powder to it to give me extra vitamins and help improve my skin, bones and heart.

Beetroot and Tomato Gnocchi

Ingredients

  • 200g baby spinach leaves
  • 125g ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 60g plain flour
  • 1 tbsp Beet of My Heart powder
  • 63g grated parmesan
  • A small bunch of parsley
  • Salt an pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 300g cherry tomatoes, chopped

Method

  1. Place spinach in a colander. Boil hot water and pour over the spinach to wilt. Once cool squeeze out excess water from spinach by placing in a clean tea towel and squeezing. Finely chop the spinach.
  2. In a bowl beat the egg, add ricotta, parmesan, flour, and the Beet of My Heart powder. Mix well. Then add the spinach. Season to taste.
  3. Dust hands with flour and roll out approximately 10 walnut sized balls. Place them in the fridge for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Then boil some salted water and add the gnocchi balls carefully, one at a time.
  5. Simmer gently until gnocchi is cooked through and floating.
  6. Whilst waiting for the gnocchi to cook heat oil in a frying pan, add garlic and fry for a few seconds and add the chopped tomatoes. Fry until the tomatoes break down. Season.
  7. Serve the gnocchi on top of the warm tomato sauce and garnish with chopped parsley.

This gnocchi is healthier than your normal potato gnocchi. It is light, creamy and full of flavour. The tomato sauce gives it that extra sharpness.

GlowUp – Turmeric / Ginger

Contains organic turmeric and ginger. The turmeric is from India and ginger from Sri Lanka. Turmeric is used for its anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties. Ginger improves digestion, absorption of nutrients and reduces bloating.
