Here is some interesting facts which you might not know about the classic drinks which are served within Mr Tipsy’s Down the Hatch.

The Margarita was invented back in 1936 by Daniel Negrete the manager of Garci Crespo Hotel in Puebla, Mexico. As apparently his girlfriend, Margarita, apparently liked salt in her drinks and so he created the drink for her as a present.

The Gin Martini is said to have been invented by an Italian immigrant bartender Martini di Arma di Taggia whilst working at the Knickerbocker Hotel in New York City before World War I.

The Moscow Mule was invented back in 1941 in New York’s Chatham Hotel by J Morgan, owner of the Hollywood Cock’n Bull Restaurant and president of Cock’n Bull Products, as he wanted to get his customers interested in Smirnoff Vodka.

The Bourbon whiskey is said to be from Kentucky and was named after the war of American independence as a gesture of thanks to the French king, the Bourbon Louis XVI, for his help against the Brits.

The first Beer was a chemically confirmed barley beer which dates back to the 5th millennium BC in Iran.

Verdict

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I absolutely loved this concept of a bar crawl experiencing different characters within different themed bars. The whole concept is a great one especially as you can enjoy several tipples throughout the experience.

However the only quibble I do have with the concept is that when I visited there was not a lot of characters at the bars to immerse with. In fact we on our pub crawl journey only got to see, a crazy granny, a cowboy, a guitarist, and a German bar man. Throughout the other bars we never saw any other wacky characters to immerse with unfortunately so I do think it makes a big difference in what day and time you go.

What I absolutely loved though about each the bar despite the lack of characters to immerse with was the chance to pose and snap many selfies as there are a number of outlandish props to interact with, plus costumes and accessories to wear.

I would highly recommend this bar if you love bar crawling, drinking, interacting with characters and selfie props as there are plenty.

So grab your mates and head on down to Mr Tipsy’s Down the Hatch for a night you’ll never forget.
