Christmas is coming, so that means it is time to start to purchase some Christmas scented candles to make my rooms smell more Christmassy.
There are many scented candles out on the market but my personal favourite brand is Yankee Candle. They sell a great selection and all the candles are made using high premium grade paraffin wax, premium scents and comes within a glass apothecary jar with a glass dome lid making them extra study and save, when lit and not lit.
The other week I was invited down by Bloggers Required to a press pop up event entitled Countdown to Christmas in which showcased Yankee Candles Christmas candles and much more. There was so many Christmassy candles to choose from. Plus they even had an advent calendar in which contained different candles in which you can burn each day to bring beautiful aroma into your home.
Yankee Candle
Yankee Candle was founded back late in 1969 by Mike Kittredge, Donald Maclver and Susan Obremski high school students.
It all started when Mike Kittredge of Massachusetts, USA made a homemade candle. He made a candle as he was seeking a Christmas gift for his mum and wanted to gift her something unique and personal, so he decided to make a candle for her. He used everyday materials from the kitchen from household wax, a red crayon, string and a milk carton, and made his first candle.
A neighbour saw the candle in which he had made and offered to buy it, leaving him enough money to buy more materials to create more candles and that is how the Yankee Candle journey begun.
In 1975 saw the first Yankee Candle Shop which was located in the Village Commons in South Hadley. Since then Yankee Candle has grown and can be bought worldwide from thousands of gift shops, through catalogues and even online.
In 2013 the Jarden Corporation bought Yankee Candle for $1.75 billion and in 2015 they merged with Newell Rubbermaid.
However to this day Yankee Candle stays true to it’s roots providing us customers premium high quality candles.
Countdown to Christmas

Heading on into this pop up event showcasing Yankee Candles latest Christmas candles for this year I was immediately hit by the wonderful smell of scented candles making me think of Christmas. There was notes of candy sweetness and cinnamon wafting around.

I learnt whilst exploring this Yankee Candle event that all their candles are made using
- Premium grade paraffin wax that delivers a clean, consistent burn
- Premium quality scents which create distinctive true-to-life smells
- 100% natural fibres for the wick which gives the best burn possible
- Classic glass apothecary jars which come with glass domed lids
There was plenty of candles to smell and even other products from Yankee Candle on display such as their Christmas Advent Caldendar in where you can enjoy a different scented candle every day from 1 to 25 December.
Smelling all the candles within this pop up showcase my favourite was Yankee Candles ‘Letters to Santa’. This candle has smells of cinnamon, lemon, coconut and sandalwood. I was highly delighted to be able to come away from the show with my favourite scent as was gifted a goodie bag after. Bring on December as I can’t wait to burn it, bringing Christmas joy and scents into my home.
As well as Yankee Candle Biscuiteers London was also there providing some Christmas cookie lessons in where I got to ice some biscuit shaped baubles. Which was fun but wow I can’t ice. The biscuit though was yummy very crunchy and buttery in flavour. Check out their Christmas biscuit selection via their website, click here.

Plus there was a calligraphy lesson by Jenny of Jenny Collier Design who taught me and others how to write our names. Calligraphy is all about having the right pen I learnt though not just how you move your hand. In fact calligraphy is a little like drawing rather than writing.
What is your favourite scent?
Verdict

This was such a fun event and I loved discovering all Yankee Candles Christmas candles. Each and everyone smelt amazing. I also loved discovering about their advent calendar in which I have never seen in real life before. I liked how it was shaped like a Christmas tree.
It was also great to discover Biscuiteers there who sell unique shaped biscuits. Having never had a biscuit from them before I was surprised how fresh and tasty they were, crunchy and buttery. I also enjoyed decorating a bauble shaped biscuit even though mine was a little bit of a mess in the end.
Also loved learning calligraphy, much easier than I thought to do but it all is about having the right writing tools I learnt.
So if you are looking for that something a litter special this Christmas for your loved one, a family member, friend or perhaps even a colleague at work then why not buy them a Yankee Candle or perhaps biscuits by Biscuiteers.
