The Art of Banksy unauthorised private collection comes to London

Banksy to me is the modern version of Salvador Dalí with his work and even himself surrounded by mystery. Why? as his art work is a modern day surrealism with hard hitting messages which spring up literally anywhere. Plus Banksy is like a superhero as no one knows who he is! but he brings hard hitting messages and comical surreal art to our streets. Now for a limited time an unauthorised collection of private art by Banksy has popped up in London’s Covent Garden where you can view some well known favourite political surreal art pieces by Banksy and so much more.

I went on along on a PR invite and read inspirational quotes by Banksy as well as discovered pieces of art which I’ve never seen before, with some pieces of art making me question what is the meaning of life and humanity?

Banksy

Nobody knows who is Banksy, yet everybody knows he is a graffiti artist and prankster. Banksy is one of the most famous yet the most mysterious graffiti artists in the world. Some consider him a prankster whereas others a superhero of art. Banksy’s art pops up literally anywhere and everywhere with his enigmatic and surreal art from the UK to Sydney. Expressing always a strong political statement with poetry, energy and humour.

Amanda Cotton Workshop learning how to coil at home

Earlier on in the year I went along to learn how to make a bowl using a potters wheel courtesy of Amanda Cotton Workshop and I enjoyed it so much. So when I heard that she was giving pottery coiling classes during lock-down which can be done at home via online I just had to book a class along with friends.

Pottery is a great way to relieve you of any stresses and worries in life and also is a great health benefit as crafting can help those who suffer from anxiety, depression or chronic pain. It can may also ease stress, increase happiness and protect the brain from damage caused by ageing.

Pottery is also a great exercise for the hands, wrists, and arms. The movement of making pottery is gentle yet strengthening to the hands, wrists, and arms. This can be beneficial to those prone to arthritis in the hands, as it promotes joint movement and dexterity.

Have you ever watched the classic movie ‘Ghost‘ starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze? Ever since watching that scene so many years ago I have always wanted to practice my hand on a potters wheel and get creative.

So when I was invited down on a gifted basis by Amanda Cotton to learn how to make a bowl using a potters wheel I was bowled over.

Creative Studio let’s sculpt with paint

Not ever having heard of sculpture painting before when I was invited down along with another member of Love Pop Ups London on a complimentary basis via Nadia of Creative Studio I just had to see what it was all about.

I am not an artist or sculpture in anyway in fact my craft skills are in the same league as my niece of seven. However I love art and crafts and am keen in learning new skills.

Creative Studio

Nadia runs Creative Studio and holds sculpting painting classes within London teaching people how to sculpt paint using Evgenia Ermilova materials.

At Creative Studio students can also purchase materials for sculpture painting as they are on the official brands in the UK for Evgenia Ermilova. You can also purchase a variety of tools from palette knives to palettes so you can go home and become an expert at sculpture painting.
