Tomb Raider The LIVE Experience prepare to release your inner Lara Croft?

This new multimillion-pound Tomb Raider The LIVE Experience has opened in London Camden giving adventure-seekers the chance to assist the legendary Lara Croft on a mission to save the world!

If your a fan of Lara Croft just like me then you will love this new LIVE immersive experience in which you can take on a mission to help Lara out. You’ll get to experience adrenaline fun obstacle courses as you fight your way through different locations, solving puzzles and collecting relics along the way as you avoid enemies in which are in hot pursuit after you.

If you do not know who Lara Croft is though here is an explanation.

Lara Croft is a fictional character who is a British archaeologist who is very intelligent and an athletic woman with big breasts, who just loves to take on an adventure discovering tombs and ruins around the world.

She first appeared in Tomb Raider video games which was developed by Core Design back in 1996. Due to the success 12 more games followed on. In 2003 Crystal Dynamics took over the Tomb Raider series. they rebooted her character by altering her physical proportions and giving her additional ways of interacting with game environments.

Since 1996 she has been voiced by six actresses in the video game series by Shelley Blond (1996), Judith Gibbins (1997–1998), Jonell Elliott (1999–2003), Keeley Hawes (2006–2014), Abigail Stahlschmidt (2015) and Camilla Luddington (2013 & 2018).

In 2001 Embracer Group bought the rights to make Tomb Raider into a movie. Three films, Lara Croft: Tomb RaiderLara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of LifeTomb Raider have been produced, while a fourth film, Tomb Raider: Obsidian is in production.

In the first two movies Lara Croft was played by actress Angelina Jolie and the third by Alicia Vikander.

Alicia Vikander voice is also used for when Lara makes an appearance in Tomb Raider The LIVE Experience.

Lara Croft has also further appeared in video game spin-offs, printed adaptations, a series of animated short films, feature films and merchandise related to the series.

I was invited down courtesy of Tomb Raider LIVE Experience to give me an insight of what it would be like to be Lara Croft and I can tell you it is not easy being Lara.

Monopoly Lifesized adventuring around the board

Did you know that Monopoly has been played all over the world since 1903?

For those who don’t know what Monopoly is. It is a multi-player property themed board game. The game involves players rolling two dice to move around the board, buying and trading properties, and developing them into houses and hotels. Players can collect rent from their opponents. Money can also be gained or lost through Chance, Community Chest and the Tax square. Players can also end up in jail. The ultimate goal of the game though is to buy as many locations possible, build properties on them as to charge rent and make other players bankrupt.

Now you can play Monopoly unlike you have ever played it before, this time in REAL LIFE as you walk around the board, buy property, build houses but you will for sure be wanting to avoid being sent to jail!

I was lucky enough to be invited along to the press night of Monopoly Lifesized in which I took along a few friends of mine to compete against other teams as we travelled around a board of Monopoly.

Question is did we end up broke or rich, what you think?

Monopoly Lifesized

Hasbro and Gamepath Entertainment have combined forces and now bring to London a lifesized Monopoly in which you can physically walk around the board, collect real estate, charge people rent and play games to gain extra money.

Mulan Rouge at The Vaults get your drag on

The Vaults are back up and running after being shutdown for a while during the pandemic starting off season their with a great new production show Mulan Rouge.

Mulan Rouge is basically a mash-up of Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge and Disney’s Mulan. The story is about war, love and LGBT but mostly the show is full of cabaret, dancing and singing to hits from the 80’s & 90’s.

Simply Mulan Rouge is a gender-deconstructive show packed full of puns, all whilst you tuck into a feast fit for any Queen (or King).

The Vaults never disappoints. Other immersive dining shows in which I have attended within The Vaults in the past include Aladdin and the Feast of Wonders, An Evening of Meat, Cinders, Dantes Peak Dinner is Coming, Divine Properties and Red Palace all of which were packed with thrills, laughs and a delicious feast.

I was kindly invited down on a press basis to review their latest show Mulan Rouge where I dined and enjoyed a show full of glitz and glamour.

The Vaults

The Vaults are set in a maze of disused railway arches under Waterloo bringing immersive theatre and alternative arts. Their mission is to collaborate and conspire, embracing artists from all walks of life to come together and inspire others.

They strive to continue to support and co-produce innovative immersive theatre, fusing together art and championing unsung voices, especially those of the LGBTQ+ community. They want to make immersive experiences fun for everyone and focuses on big and current ideas told in outlandish, accessible and in the most unique way.

Their latest production show presently is Mulan Rouge which is on till 23 January 2022. This production show by ShayShay is a take on Disney’s Mulan and the movie Moulin Rouge but with a focus on gender, as gender after all is just a social construct. The show is packed full of drag, glitter and naughtiness.

Hiver drink their beer save honey bees

Everyone knows that without bees we’d all be in a very difficult place environmentally, and that is one of the reason Hiver has made it their cause from the beginning to help British beekeepers by sponsoring and using their honey within their beer.

For instance if you look at any plate of food we eat, bees have most likely played a big part in either pollinating the many vegetables and fruits we eat directly or pollinating the food for the animals that we then consume. Plus that’s not all bees do for us, as honey and wax are two other important products that come courtesy of bees.

As a lover of bees, honey and beer Hiver is the perfect beer to have. Plus the beauty about Hiver is that all their beer uses honey which they source from three select Bee Keeping farms here within the British Isles.

Thanks to Hiver I was invited down on a press related invite to learn more about their beers as well as bees.

Hiver Urban Experience in Kennington

Discovering about bees and Hiver beer.

Bee Urban

Since 2015 Bee Urban has been looking after honey bees, growing herbs, fruit and vegetables. Their site is in Kennington Park, The Hive is situated behind the cafe and in front of St Agnes church in Kennington Park.

Bee Urban honey bees are a social enterprise that aims to work with communities to improve the environment for the benefit of us all. They focus on responsible urban beekeeping, horticulture and community growing.

The pond and garden area is a space to come and learn about beekeeping, organic gardening and sustainable living, whilst providing nectar and forage for the bees in our apiary. Their cob oven is regularly used for their home made pizza sessions.

Within the workshop educational classes take place from beekeeping demonstrations, gardening and training sessions. Plus there is a small shop within where you can purchase candle-making equipment, honey and so much more.

Hiver

Since 2013 Hiver has been brewing their honey beer with their first beer being their flagship natural blonde beer.

Hiver was born out of an admiration for London’s urban beekeepers and a passion for craft beer. Hannah Rhodes, was the one who was inspired to create a quality beer using honey, following the discovery of the vast array of honey produced in London. The number of bee hives in London has soared in recent years following news that global bee numbers were in rapid decline. Unpasteurised, more textured and flavourful honey is used in the brewing process, contributing to the taste and body of the beer. Since brewing Hiver has gone from strength to strength with listings at Ocado, Marks & Spencers, and a number of independent merchants and pubs.

All of Hiver beers use raw honey which is sourced from independent British beekeepers, in whom they sponsor and run fun experiences at as also helping spread the knowledge about the role of bees and bee keepers are equally as important to them. They also believe that supporting the beekeepers they work with is one of the best ways to support British bees and helps give us all the best insight in how we should help support bee populations by planting for bees. With every web order at Hiver you will receive a free seasonal flower pack of seeds too, to plant and help bees. Plus working towards B-Corp accreditation they pledge to donate 10% of profits to pollinator and green spacing projects.

Hiver uses honey as an integral part of their brewing process, helping to deliver crisp, light tasting beer with a subtle honey aroma and flavour. Hiver never pasteurise their beer either, which means you will always get the freshest, most natural beer in your glass.

Hiver also has gone the extra mile working with local suppliers, from the people that kiln their glass, produce their labels and stamp their business card keeping to a low carbon footprint.

No wonder Hiver has won a number of awards from Britain’s Next Top Supplier to being the only British medal winner at the World Beer Challenge (with two gold medals) in 2018, a recent European Beer Star Gold and an industry award for Corporate Social Responsibility gets Hiver into the Best of British Beers.

Wizard Exploratorium magic is real!

Magic is real at Wizard Exploratorium. Growing up watching magicians on television and attending many live shows I have always been fascinated by magic and the science behind it. All magicians perform magic in different ways from special magical wording through to a wand. I have always wanted a wand of my own but not the usual black and white ones but one like Harry Potter so when I heard about Wizard Exploratorium magical wand making class within Soho I just had to discover more.

Wands date back from the 1200s. A wand is traditionally thin and light weight rod that is held within one hand, and was traditionally made out of wood. Back in the day a wand was used to summon and control angels and genies, but as years went by wands later were used by witches, wizards and magicians.

Thanks to Wizard Exploratorium I was invited on a complimentary basis to create my own special magically designed wand within their workshop. Plus throughout December they are holding Gingerbread decorating workshop in which I also got involved and made my own house of gingerbread.

Wizard Exploratorium

Wizard Exploratorium is part The Cauldron Co. They are both venues which host events theatrical immersive events and sell magical products. They are all about blending science and technology together.

They are about bringing fantasy to life with science, technology, and design giving believers a magical experience.
