Well, I’ll never turn down a dinner of Caribbean food as I know I will always leave very full and slightly drunk. My visit to Cottons Rhum Shake in Shoreditch was not a let down with that, thanks to them and LovePopUpsLondon.com for the invite.
Walking in, first impressions of the vibe were good. The space is decorated really nicely, in a relaxed decor which makes you feel at home. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked questions, and although being relatively new, they were knowledgeable about the drinks and foods on offer.

Ouch my head is still sore!!! The rum punches are so potent and beautiful to taste, that you’ll only need a couple to be merry!! Highly recommend trying that one to start, as it’s exactly what you’d expect for a Caribbean restaurant, full of flavour, rum and colour!

Food wise, my stand out dish was the ebony wings.. they were chicklicious!! Mmm yum yum! The Rasta salad was also nice to cleanse the palate in between the chicken and fritters. After sampling most of the starters, it definitely left me wanting to try the rest of the menu.

If you’re around shoreditch, you can do a lot worse than stopping by, this place is a lovely explosion of flavour for your tastebuds!

If you’re like me and dream of a trip to the Caribbean but are kept grounded by your wallet then cotton’s offers sweet relief from your Carib cravings. Cotton’s in Shoreditch is my favourite of the cotton’s restaurants, not only is it in a fun location but the interior is really nice and welcoming. The menu is a creative composition of mouthwatering dishes like ebony chicken wings, pork ribs (highly recommended) and a rasta salad (get this to feel better about eating half a kilo of meat slathered in sauce).

The cocktail menu is equally inspiring and I would recommend something rum-based as they really know how to work the flavours into some great drinks. They also hold rum tastings every now and then which are well worth the time.
