GoBoat

Love boats?
Love to drive?
Love picnics?
Love canals of Paddington and Camden?
Then you’ll love GoBoat

The GoBoats base is located in Merchant Square. You will leave Merchant Square and sail up to Little Venice, along the Regent’s canal up to Camden Lock passing many sights such as Regents Park, London Zoo etc. You will be provided a map with information for the routes that you can take.

So forget boring old picnics on a field or in a park or a bench somewhere jump on a GoBoat and enjoy the leisurely pleasure of the London canals whilst having a picnic on one of the large tables in the middle of the boat.  Eat and sip drinks with friends/family having a merry time. This is certainly the most sociable entertaining experience you can have on the waters on London.

If you’ve ever been curious about captaining your own boat and cruising down the canals in London, then this will undoubtedly be right up your street!

If you’ve ever dreamed of driving a boat but haven’t yet had the opportunity then STOP and book you and your friends on GO Boat London’s best boat adventure based in Merchant Square, just a stone throw from Paddington Mainline station and Edgware Road Tube Station.
You and your friends with no license required can be your own captain and can take to the waters from as little as £55.00 for 1 hour but that won’t get you very far along the canals so I would recommend 2 hours which costs £85.00.
So starting off from Merchant Square (you are given a health and safety briefing along with instructions on how to control and operate the boat). So your own food and drink you can bring along (I highly recommend for the journey) we did along with Fentimans drinks that kindly sent us some for the journey, you can take in the lovely picturesque scenery with people waving at you from the canal sides and on bridges plus you get to see baby swans, ducks (you even pass the back of London Zoo and see the Hyenas and the bird sanctuary on the other side.
You must follow the waterway laws when driving along the canals and respect the boat owners that live along the canals and other users.
So if your looking to fulfil your dream of being your own captain, then book GO Boat I promise you will be booking again as soon as you get off the boat.

Ready for a tour of London in an unconventional way, then GoBoat is the way to go. I went with the lovely Love Popup’s community and we sailed down Regents Canal, taking in Little Venice, Camden and Maida Vale!
GoBoat is so simple, with no license required, all you need is a group of friends, a sense of adventure and you are good to go! My favourite part of the trip was having a chance to sail the boat.. I would love to say that I was a pro, but sadly not, as we took in a few branches on the way haha.
Food and drink is a must.. We were blessed with some lovely drinks, kindly supplied by Fentimans – the stand out flavour for me being the rose lemonade. The nibbles were aplenty, with Krispy Kremes, profiteroles, which were expertly coated in chocolate by the lovely Bianca, and some crisps.
I highly recommend taking some speakers, so you can listen to some nice relaxing music while you cruise down the canal.. We skipped the speakers, but luckily our phones let us play out Barbie Girl and a few other retro classics. Yes, I’m sure the world knew we were in town!
All in all, the experience will set you back £85 for 2 hours and you take up to 8 people (including yourself), so its an absolute steal.

As the colder season approaches and you want to fill the last of your “warmer weather” days with something quirky and fun to do that involves team building and learning a new skill, then head over to one of London’s newest attractions, Go Boat.
A Londoner or a visitor, you’ll be sure to view the city in a new light.
Taking you on a gentle cruise, you, the driver, take control of the boat starting from the stretch of canal from Paddington Basin to Camden Town, whilst passing by the bird cage at London Zoo.
With a maximum capacity of 8 people, this makes for an affordable activity for friends or family alike giving everyone a chance to manoeuvre the vessel.
What makes this boat distinctly different from the usual water experiences on offer, is the picnic feature, where you can bring on-board alcoholic beverages and a whole tableful of food, providing of course you can consume the lot when your two hour river boat ride finishes.

I love a picnic, mainly because I love picnic food. It always feel like a pass on eating healthy and things such a crumpets and doughnuts become okay to indulge in.
Now I’ve never thought things could get better than sitting in a grassy park, sunshine overhead and a spread of food in front of you.

Paddington basin has a hidden treasure trove of restaurants, bars and activities but by far the coolest is GoBoat.
GoBoat allows you to jump aboard a small boat with a picnic and drinks of your own and cruise up and down Little Venice.
With an option of meandering to Kensal Green or heading up to Camden Lock & London Zoo these small 8 seater boats are perfect for a day out.
They can be hired from 1 hour (probably a bit tight) up to 6 hours and are pretty easy to drive, with electric engines that are super quiet and don’t add to the river pollution!
A bunb of us from Love pop-ups London were lucky enough to experience it on the first real weekend of spring, 2 hours of peaceful canalway, glorious sunshine and our plenty of food and wine.
If you’re looking for something away from the hustle and bustle but still central this is a must. It is great for an alternative picnic location, a birthday celebration or even a work trip and at £95 for 2 hours it is pretty good value as well!

Looking for an alternative to hanging out at the park on a sunny day?
Then GoBoat is your answer!
You can be the captain of your own boat for 1-2-3 or 4 hours and bring up to 8 friends in total.
Sail along the Paddington canal either West or East while munching on your bring your own snacks and drinks (more details on their website).
Thanks to Lovepopups London I had the opportunity to test drive it and it was so much fun. It gives you a different way to enjoy the nice weather and explore parts of London at a reasonable price!
So make sure you check it out now that it looks like Spring is finally here.

If you’re looking for something a bit different to do, Go Boat is a gorgeous alternative to the classic picnic in the park.
Grab some snacks (and maybe a bottle or two!) and set off!
You have two hours to explore the Regents Canal, either with one driver the whole way or taking turns with another person (which is what we did) and it’s definitely easier than you think it would be! It definitely takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you do, it’s plain sailing. (literally!)
You pass through Little Venice, London Zoo and The Floating Chinese restaurant on your trip which is especially pretty at the moment will all the blossom around.
It’s the perfect way to spend a sunny summers day in London, and I’ve already booked to go again for a friend’s birthday in few weeks!
