Wyland Tondelier art is life

Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time and Wyland colouring books does just that.

I was kindly gifted courtesy of Wyland a few of his colouring books as well as a necklace designed and made by him made out of milk, yes milk!

Wyland Tondelier

Wyland Tondelier is an artist, sculpture, fashion designer and performer who comes from France but lives in East London.

As an artist he truly is inspired by idols who rock us everyday with their music or their acting. Thus he likes to work and sculpt the line by drawing, painting, using fabric and mixed media bringing us all idols in a way we have never seen them. Curving and interlacing the lines between them to create drawings and installations with a difference.

Domaine Du Grand Mayne you had me at Merlot

Wine is an alcoholic drink which is typically made from fermented grapes and courtesy of Domaine du Grand Mayne Merlot Cabernet wine I got to try theirs and their wine did not disappoint resulting in a lush glass of brilliant red wine, aromas of plums and black cherries, and a spicy fruity taste.

Did you know though that wine has been produced for thousands of years with the earliest coming from ancient China back in 7000 BC? Since then wine has become more and more popular with the European wine market encompassing three of the largest wine producing regions. Today, the five countries with the largest wine producing regions are in France, Spain, Italy, USA and China.

Domaine du Grand Mayne

Domaine du Grand Mayne was founded back in 1985 which was an abandoned vineyard with semi derelict buildings, overgrown copses and fields of maize and sunflowers, to the flourishing vineyard and winery that it is today.

Within a few years Domaine du Grand Mayne was totally transformed into a show piece artisan winery and vineyard who now have over 120,000 vines planted over 34 hectares (84 acres) producing an average of around 200,000 bottles a year.

Mac & Wild a marriage of beef and venison

I love burgers! but never had one quite like Mac & Wild’s flavoursome game burger which is a marriage of beef and venison. It is big, powerful, juicy and ever so tasty.

Courtesy of Mac & Wild I was kindly gifted their DIY Venimoo Burger kit to try at home and wow what a burger, nothing to grunt about as this burger was moolicious.

Mac & Wild

Brother Calum & Andy are Scottish and come from a family of butchers. Food loving and passionate about Scottish food they wanted to bring a piece of Scotland to everyone’s plate at their restaurants and to peoples homes.

Their journey started back in 2006 when Calum opened up his first bar and Andy in 2011 with his street food providing Londoners a taste of game from Scotland. Within a year Andy won food trader and young British foodie street trader of the year.

2014 the brothers united over their passion of their homeland Scotland and popped up with Wild Game Co. within Charlotte Street in London. With the success of their pop up restaurant doing well Mac & Wild was born 2015 opening their first restaurant on Great Titchfield Street, then a year later another in Devonshire Square which is a much larger site, bringing game and whisky galore to the city of London.

All their meat is sourced from the Highlands, which traditional farming practices have been preserved. No industrialised animal practices as the animals are reared the right way on open pastures, with natural feed and without the use of any chemical nasties.

Aloha 65 spirit up your Christmas

This Christmas add Aloha 65 to your 65 festive tipples, ok maybe not 65 but if you are looking for a spirit which is sweet but yet fiery then this spirit is for you. Aloha 65 is made with pineapples but gives a punch of spice, ginger and scotch bonnet chilli’s.

On a courtesy basis thanks to Aloha 65 I was gifted another bottle, this time their special limited edition bottle which features a young lady skiing. This time I got a little more festive and made some of Aloha 65 wintery tipples as well as coming up with my own special Christmas creation, Rudolph’s Kiss.

Aloha 65

Stephen Thorp is the founder of Aloha 65. Aloha 65 is a complex infused spirit that is beautifully, naturally and carefully made over a month using six fresh, raw ingredients including fresh pineapple, lemon, ginger, scotch bonnet chilli and two other carefully selected herbs and spices. No colourants, flavourings or refined sugar are used in the production process. The fresh ingredients are macerated and then simply steeped lazily in a neutral grain spirit in separate containers and slowly infuse the alcohol until the flavours are just so. After a month or so, when nature has done her work, the six distillates are blended together to create the beautifully balanced finished product. Aloha 65 is all-natural, vegan and 27% ABV.
