Who done it? – Murder Mystery The Poisoned Garden

Murder Mystery The Poisoned Garden took place on the rooftop of John Lewis in Oxford Street during November 2017. I went along to solve the murders and curse of the Winter Household that was produced and performed out by Blackwatch Entertainment. The question is who done it and how can the curse be broken?

The Poisoned Garden by Blackwatch Entertainment –
who done it?

The story was about a curse that was bestowed upon the Winter’s a Victorian family. The whole rooftop was transformed that evening into an eerie 19th century garden. It was up to me and other detectives (guests) on the night to step into the garden and try to crack the curse and many other mysteries of the night. Continue reading

Gino, Gino, Gino! – WeFiFo: Gino D’Acampo event

Gino held a special event along with WeFiFo the other day and it was FANTASTICO!

Many of the other community members of ‘Love Pop Ups – London’ have had the pleasure to attend many of WeFiFo’s various supperclubs in the past courtesy of me and them (read their blogs/vlogs via clicking here) but this time it was my turn. I paid for my experience though as when I saw Gino’s special event being advertised I immediately wanted to secure my spot as I am a massive fan of Gino D’Acampo. However regardless of that any WeFiFo supperclub event is worth every penny as they are all so unique and special.  Continue reading

Lights, camera, action – Pop Up Screens

Hello! Welcome to the Pop Up Screens. Pop Up Screens returns this winter with a Christmas theme. I had the pleasure to go along to a press night with fellow bloggers of ‘Love Pop Ups – London’ community to see the classic Christmas movie ‘The Muppets Christmas Carol’.

Many pop up cinemas are set outside but thankfully this one was set inside in Hackney Showrooms. You will be transported into a wintery world from the off to watch one of the many famous classic Christmas movies which they are showing during December.

Firstly before entering into the bar or screening area you come across a display board with many different sayings that you can take selfies with my best being “I’ll be hanging around the mistletoe…”

Drink, drink and more drink – The Spirit Show, London

I went along to the press afternoon of The Spirit Show which was held at the Business Design Centre (1-2 December 2017) in which I took along my blogger friend Kim (see her blog by clicking here). Press events are great as attending those sessions are much quieter which in turn makes it easier and more leisurely to browse around all the stalls, instead of trying to keep on pushing pass everyone to sample a drink or two or to have a discussion with the sellers/owners.

Cuban Love – Little Havana

I have never been very adventurous when it comes to food but in my later years I am becoming more adventurous and trying out new cuisine.  So with this being my first ever taste of Cuban food I thought what a better way than to try it at the new Little Havana restaurant that recently opened up in October 2017 situated on Inverness Street in Camden.

Little Havana – Cuban cuisine

Raul Jerez is the man who has brought the authentic Cuban flavours to London in which you will be able to experience at Little Havana the great authentic Cuban cuisine and delicious cocktails with plenty of rum ones to choose from of course.  Plus as well as food and drink Little Havana lays on many Latin House nights (on certain nights) and salsa classes (on Tuesdays). Be dazzled – Magical Lantern Winter 2017

Magical Lantern is a great way to start the festivities off this Winter as it certainly makes me feel full of joy and gets me in a festive spirit as I am sure it will do for many others.

It returns for it’s third year (24 Nov 2017 – 1 Jan 2018) to the lovely grounds of Chiswick House & Gardens in London this time with the supposedly theme of Christmas. The nearest stations are Turnham Green station and Chiswick Overground station. Entry to Magical Lantern for an adult costs £14.00 weekday and £15.50 during the weekend. For children it costs £10 weekday and £11.50 during the weekend (prices correct at the time). Continue reading

Who needs the real South Pole? – South Pole Saloon in Brixton

South Pole Saloon is Christmas.

With Christmas just round the corner what a top way to start any festive celebration off by sipping on martinis and cocktails whilst also grabbing a selfie or two with the Sweet Candy Cane girls, Ice King and the Frozen Ice Queen of Brixton.

I had the pleasure of attending the launch night of South Pole Saloon which is back for it’s second time being bigger and better.

Do you want Beauty or the Beast? – Beauty and the Feast

Beauty and the Feast is a blend of theatre and a supper club from the designers Darling & Edge.  This is their latest immersive event that is happening in The Vaults with the story being loosely based on the well-known fairy tale Beauty and the Beast.  Be warned though this is not your average panto as this is for adults only, so leave behind your kids.

WARNING there are spoiler alerts throughout my blog so you have been warned. Plus I have added some quotes from the famous Beauty and the Beast story but can you guess which quotes come from which fictional characters?

Great cheese balls of pleasure – Dona Rita Pão de Queijo

Dona Rita Pão de Queijo pop up stand

Dona Rita Pão de Queijo products are not to be missed.  Pão de Queijo means in English Brazilian cheese balls. The pop-up stand in which you can buy them from direct and eat freshly cooked is based at Old Street underground station (until 25 November 2017) so be quick. If you do miss this pop up though you can buy online.

Dona Rita stand and me

They looked, tasted delicious and certainly were cheese balls of delight.  So fluffy and cheesy. To me they tasted a bit like choux pastry but with a much fluffier, spongy inside and cheesy. Continue reading
