Yabba dabba do let’s bowl – Queens

Went along courtesy of Queens to experience their newly branded place for a game of bowling, iceskating and some food from MEATliquor. Firstly I was not impressed as when I arrived and went up to the reception area they did not have my booking down however after a while we came to an arrangement even though I was not impressed with the lateness of when we could start to bowl.

Chocolate heaven – Pierre Marcolini chocolate pop up

Today I attended Pierre Marcolini chocolate pop up event at Carousel in Marylebone, to see Pierre Marcolini latest winter festive collection.  To be honest I have never heard of Pierre Marcolini before or of his chocolates which surprises me as I am a fan of chefs, bakers and chocolatiers. So I was thrilled to go along to this event to learn more about him and sample his chocolates. Unfortunately when I went along he was not around to meet as he visited earlier on in the day.  So I spoke to one of his apprentices which I learnt more about this amazing chocolatier Pierre Marcolini. Open Sesame – Secret Cellar: Brendan Rodrigues

Secret Cellar really is a secret.  Once entering the bar area I was slightly confused where the theatre was as all I could see was a bar and tables. So I went to the bar to ask where is the theatre and they said I had to wait to see. The whole bar area is quite unique with its slightly gothic feel of gargoyles statues and other unique décor set in around the bar. There are also seating areas all dotted around in unique secluded areas making it feel a bit more special if you are in a party of approx. 6 to 8 people. I especially loved the tree house which featured stained glass windows within the area. Continue reading

Let’s save home and country – Escape Plan: The Battle for Britain

Escape Plan is a live escape experience is themed around World War II and I must admit upon entering into the room I felt like I had been transported back to 1945 with all the props and the music/sounds that was playing through the speakers elevating through the whole room. The story is that we are in the depths of August 1940 and the Luftwaffe have launched a resurgent attack on Britain and we are the only survivors in the bombed airbase that we are situated in. Future Forest was all about exploring the relationship between humans and nature through a very fun and adventurous way.

Bompas & Parr: Future Forest in Shepherds Bush

I went along to the Future Forest one that was held in Shepherds Bush running from 15-28 August 2017. There was a fantastical fruit cloud, a mini exhibition showcasing plants that Continue reading

Food glorious food – Foodies Festival at Alexandra Palace

I have visited many food shows before in the past but this was my first time in attending a Foodies Festival. First impressions was that the event was quite small and nowhere as big as other food shows I have been to in the past as because this one I managed to get around the whole show area within 30 minutes and with that in mind I don’t know how people can try and spend the whole day there without getting a bit bored but I suppose the only way you could extend your time without getting bored is by attending a number Continue reading

Let’s get snap happy in water – FujiFilm Camera ‘FinePix XP120’

I have never owned a waterproof camera or a FujiFilm camera so this was a challenge and a first for me.  I was thrilled when I was loaned one of their waterproof cameras the FujiFilm FinePix XP120 to test. Why did I get one to test? well that is because I needed a waterproof camera for several events that I was holding for bloggers from the community of Love Pop Ups – London as both are water based events (HotTug UK and Thames Rocket).  So I thought with me a blogger and others what a great way for us to try out and test a Fujifilm camera whilst giving some publicity.  Bear in mind though I usually don’t blog about gadgets I usually blog about restaurant’s, food, events and shows not gadgets.

My Good Guy friend Steve “friends to the end” took me along to see the World Premiere of Cult of Chucky (the seventh instalment to the Chucky franchise) at the opening of FrightFest (24 August 2017) which was shown at Cineworld in Leicester Square, London.

Cult of Chucky – The interviews with the cast
