Support FoodCycle from home and virtually cook with renowned chef Ben Tish.
Join renowned chef and Sicilian food aficionado Ben Tish, as he hosts a special live cooking session to raise money for FoodCycle.
Ben will show you in real-time, how to cook stuffed and roasted tomatoes with almonds. An easy and delicious summer dish to share or eat as a starter.
Not only will he teach you an exciting new recipe, he’ll also be answering your top culinary questions. So get thinking!
Don’t worry – you don’t need any special equipment and the full list of ingredients will be sent to you in advance.
All money from ticket sales will be donated to FoodCycle, helping them to support the most vulnerable as well as tackling food poverty and loneliness. Join from just £5 upwards – please pay what you feel.
About Ben
In January 2018, Ben Tish joined The Stafford London as Culinary Director, overseeing the entire food offering for the hotel, including The Game Bird restaurant, the celebrated American Bar, Wine Cellars, private dining, suites and in-room dining. Together, Ben and The Stafford London launched a new restaurant, Norma, which opened in Fitzrovia in September 2019. Norma’s menus are Sicilian-inspired, drawing on the Moorish influences on the cuisine of the island.
Ben joined The Stafford London from his previous role as Chef Director of Salt Yard Group, having launched the renowned Soho sites of Dehesa, Ember Yard and Opera Tavern. Ben started working with the group as Head Chef of Salt Yard restaurant in March 2006, becoming Chef Director of the whole group soon after in 2008.Prior to Salt Yard, Ben spent much of his career working with renowned chefs and restaurateurs such as Jason Atherton and Stephen Terry, at various ground-breaking London restaurants, learning classical techniques with inspired cooking formulas. Ben also fronted the 3 AA Rosette modern Italian restaurant Al Duca, where he fell in love with the ingredient-led approach to Italian cookery. Furthermore, he held the position of Executive Chef at the Crinan Hotel in the west highlands of Scotland, where he was inspired by the beautiful, remote location and the amazing produce this part of the country has to offer. Whilst in charge of the kitchens at the Crinan, Ben was awarded ‘best gastro pub in Scotland’ by The Independent newspaper, and ‘best newcomer’ in the Good Food Guide for the fine dining restaurant.
Ben is also a highly accomplished writer and cookbook author. In late 2012 he released Salt Yard Food & Wine, a restaurant cookbook, and in 2016, Grill Smoke BBQ was released with Quadrille. In April 2019, Ben released, Moorish, influenced by the bold and exotic food culture of the Iberian Peninsula and southern Italy, published by Bloomsbury. It was the Sunday Times’ Cookbook of the Year, 2019.

Pixie Lott, Larry Lamb and others join forces to urge families to ditch the duvet, banish the blanket, and Boycott Your Bed for vulnerable children this summer!
A host of famous faces including Pixie Lott, Larry Lamb, Anthea Turner, Ed Byrne, Jess Hynes and DJ Charlotte de Carle are coming together for a night of family entertainment in aid of Action for Children, to help some of the country’s most vulnerable kids this summer.
The celebs are joining forces to ask family, friends and colleagues to ‘Boycott Your Bed’ on Friday 21 August 2020 to raise money for the charity. Whether they rough it in the garden, pitch a tent under their table, or bunk down in the bathroom, families are invited to spend the night in the most unusual place in their homes or gardens.
With the nation in the midst of a pandemic, the charity’s brand new event will help some of the families and children suffering the most. Celebrities from the world of music, TV, film and comedy will be leading a night of virtual entertainment and activities, connecting people with hundreds of others bedding down in unusual places across the UK.
The night’s entertainment will be jam-packed with Pixie Lott performing an exclusive virtual gig, Ed Bryne compering a trivia quiz – hosted by Action for Children ambassador Anthea Turner, with Jessica Hynes and Larry Lamb also lined up to make an appearance. Children’s favourite Elmer will be read as a bedtime story by a very special guest, there’s a scavenger hunt for the whole family to take part in as well as live music and a comedy set.

We need people to ditch their duvet, put away their pillows and bunk down somewhere really random in their homes or gardens on August 21st.
