No.79 mousse & coffee cafe with a difference

Mousse, for me, is one of the ultimate desserts as it light, airy, smooth, and ever so creamy but I have never had a mousse which has been presented in such a way that I just did not want to destroy it and that is exactly what happened when I visited No.79 cafe in London.

No.79 is a new dedicated mousse cafe in London who produce an array of stunning looking mousses, as well as serve up some great tasty coffee, tea and bubble tea.

Did you know that mousse originated in the 18th century in France, where the word mousse translates as ‘foam’ describing the airy texture of a mousse.

There are many different types of mousses on the market with chocolate being the most popular and classic. No.79 though is far more as they go way beyond with their stunning mousses from a rose shaped mousse to even a dog, all of which are loaded with surprises from chocolate spread centres to sponge.

Courtesy of No.79 I was invited down on a press basis to sample some of their delicious mousses which really did satisfy my sweet tooth.

No.79

Owners of Hefaure London now bring to London No.79 which is a café which specialises in mousse.

It opened it’s doors in London on Dean Street on 25 November 2021.

The Chocolate Cocktail Club will you lick the rim?

If like me you love chocolate and cocktails then you’ll love The Chocolate Cocktail Club which you can enjoy around 20 different Chocolate Cocktails from mint to salted caramel.

Cacao has been consumed since the 11th century. Cacao back in the day though was not used for chocolate but within drinks and even as currency by the Aztecs. In 1666 French started to produce a chocolate liqueur. It was not till later on that cacao beans were used to make chocolate. In New England prior to the 18th century chocolate wine became popular. Its ingredients included sherry, port, chocolate and sugar. It was not till 1847 in which the world saw the first chocolate bar which was produced in the UK by J. S. Fry & Sons of Bristol. Today chocolate is consumed in a number of ways.

Chocolate and cocktails to me is happiness in a glass. Did you know though that chocolate in fact actually can make you happy as endorphins are released when you eat it. Why? as the amino acids which are in chocolate produce serotonin in your brain which is responsible for producing the feeling of happiness.

So if you are craving chocolate and a drink of happiness then head on down to The Chocolate Cocktail Club in where you can taste a range of different chocolate cocktails.

I was invited to experience The Chocolate Cocktail Club new permanent venue within Farringdon. Last time I visited them they were had a pop up situated within the Good & Proper Tea café on select days.

The Chocolate Cocktail Club

The Chocolate Cocktail Club is run by two young ladies who just love all things chocolate, after exploring different chocolate cocktails from around the world, they decided to set up their own bar in the UK but with drinks all focusing on chocolate.

After hosting sold out pop ups across Covent Garden, Brighton and Shoreditch now they have a permanent venue within Farringdon where you can chill, grab a light bite, cakes and sip on chocolate cocktails. Plus for those who don’t like chocolate they also sell other drink such as beer, wine, and prosecco.

The Chocolate Cocktail Club has also featured on televisions ITV2 and Channel 5.

MyChocolate workshops is happiness rolled into two

MyChocolate workshops is happiness rolled into two as not only is the workshop a fun experience but eating the chocolate is pure joy. Did you know that chocolate can in fact actually make you happy as endorphins are released when you eat it. Why? as the amino acids which are in chocolate produce serotonin in your brain (the neurotransmitter) which is responsible for producing the feeling of happiness.

MyChocolate run a variety of workshops from Chocolate Espresso Martini class through to The Original Chocolate Making Workshop.

I went along to experience MyChocolate Original Chocolate Making Workshop in which I learnt how to make a giant chocolate button with a marbling affect and made a batch of ganache truffles.

I went along on a press basis to experience their Original Chocolate Making Workshop to show me how fun and easy making chocolate can be.

MyChocolate

MyChocolate was set up by founder Hannah back in Summer 2003.

Hannah wanted to bring fun and joy to all in the form of a chocolate, as after all chocolate is happiness.

During her degree she decided to take a trip around Europe to figure out what she wanted to do with her life and it was not long till she realised that her trip seemed to centre around one thing…chocolate!

Once she was back from her travels, she began to wonder if there was something she could do with her chocolate obsession? Before long she transformed her flat into a makeshift chocolate kitchen where she started to experiment with batches of fresh cream truffles, pralines and even chocolate cocktails.
