Spooktacular fundraising night – The Mortlock’s Halloween 2018

For the past ten years I and my husband Jason have decorated our house up for Halloween to give the children in the area a frightfully good scary night.

However over the past five years we decided to also help fund raise money for charities.  This year we helped to raise funds for The Maypole Project.

The Maypole Project

The Maypole Project aims to relieve and help preserve the mental and physical well-being of children and young people who have complex medical needs and disabilities and to support their family members as well as others who are affected by their suffering and in certain cases, bereavement.

They aim to educate, support and preserve the mental and physical well-being of carers and professionals working with such families and help them with issues of loss and bereavement. Continue reading

Escape room recommendations

Escape rooms have become more and more popular and elaborate with some bordering nearly on the immersive side. If you love solving puzzles and cracking clues then Escape rooms are certainly a unique fun thing to do with friends & family or even work colleagues for a social team building challenge. For those that have done escape rooms you will all know that they are very unique and challenging in their own rights.  If you have never done one I highly recommend you do so.

Still asking why play an escape room?

However no fear as Crystal Maze is very much like an escape room but instead of playing in a room by yourself with your team mates shouting at you through a window with an escape room you can all play together at the same time. clueQuest OperationBlackSheep is my second game to play at clueQuest as the other week I played PLAN52 which was great.

This one did not disappointment again. This escape room was a challenging and yet exciting one. It had a vast array of puzzles from lock cracking, code cracking and puzzles.  Team effort is certainly required in this one to disarm the rocket in time.  It is also essential that all elements are placed in the correct order at the end to solve the final Continue reading

Baaarilliant escape room – clueQuest PLAN52

I went along courtesy of clueQuest to play the PLAN52 and I really was highly surprised in how much fun it was. There are quite a few different type rooms you can play at the clueQuest location. We chose to play PLAN52 as this is the first escape room that is recommended to play at clueQuest as this is the first part of an on-going story that carries on throughout all the other escape rooms in which you can play.
