Escape room recommendations

Escape rooms have become more and more popular and elaborate with some bordering nearly on the immersive side. If you love solving puzzles and cracking clues then Escape rooms are certainly a unique fun thing to do with friends & family or even work colleagues for a social team building challenge. For those that have done escape rooms you will all know that they are very unique and challenging in their own rights.  If you have never done one I highly recommend you do so.

Still asking why play an escape room?

Well if you was like me when I was growing up I used to watch a 90’s television game show called The Crystal Maze and it involved lots of puzzles and challenges all to be done within a set time frame. I love puzzles and challenges so I always wanted to appear on it and be one of those contestants.  Plus I had a crush on Richard O’Brien. Alas though unfortunately I never did get the opportunity to play or appear on The Crystal Maze. However no fear as Crystal Maze is very much like an escape room but instead of playing in a room by yourself with your team mates shouting at you through a window with an escape room you can all play together at the same time. Baaarilliant escape room – clueQuest PLAN52

I went along courtesy of clueQuest to play the PLAN52 and I really was highly surprised in how much fun it was. There are quite a few different type rooms you can play at the clueQuest location. We chose to play PLAN52 as this is the first escape room that is recommended to play at clueQuest as this is the first part of an on-going story that carries on throughout all the other escape rooms in which you can play. Who was murdered? – Hint Hunt: JM’s office

I went along to Hint Hunt this game with nine others and we split into two teams and both played identical rooms. We all played the JM’s Office escape room. So the challenge was on in who could escape the room first in the quickest time.

Hint Hunt – JM’s Office

You are locked in the room for 60 minutes and the hunt is on. There is so many objects to look at and open from secret compartments to padlocks with one or two objects being red herrings as well along the way. Continue reading

Can we fix Roy? yes we can – Handmade Mysteries: Poppa Plocks

Handmade Mysteries new game Poppa Plocks has to be one of the best escapology games that you can play that is based in London’s Caledonian Road.

Handmade Mysteries presents Poppa Plocks

Firstly you wait in the bar area for the host of Poppa Plocks and then comes marching in comes was this toy solider called Wynn (a man dress as a solider). He was a very bubbly solider with a lot of character and humour.  We all then marched on behind Wynn to be led into this dark room called the Wonky Workshop which looked so creepy. Continue reading
