Karen’s Diner is a fast food restaurant like no other.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of Karen’s Diner, the idea behind it is essentially “good food, terrible staff”! This though is a joke, as this is a interactive funny dining experience which comes served with plenty of tongue in cheek moments.
You might be asking though why I or anyone might want to go to a restaurant such as Karen’s Diner where the service is so bad, and be treated by foul mouth waiters, insulted and treated with no manners, well it is all about the playfulness as you banter with the servers, which actually make the bad service, not actual bad service! If you know what I mean?
I was invited down on a PR basis courtesy of Karen’s Diner to sample the food delights they have on offer as well as to experience their appalling service in which they are famed for.
Karen’s Diner is a famous chain restaurant which popped up back in 2021 in Australia, Sydney which serves fast food from burgers to milkshakes, but with appallingly bad service!
The concept of it being called Karen’s Diner is that a woman called Karen is usually a middle-aged woman who likes to complain a lot.
Since opening back in 2021 Karen’s restaurants grew and now can be found across the globe. However even though there was some within the UK there was not any in London until now. .
March 2023 saw London’s first Karen’s Diner pop up within The Hadley Hotel. With another opening soon after in London’s Islington.
The appeal of a Karen’s Diner is the ability to have playful argumentative banter whilst being served by rude waiters as you dine.

Continue readingStart your fans please, this live fan based version of The Crystal Maze set within London and Manchester allows people just like to be able to participate in Crystal Maze and take on the Crystal Dome at the end. It might not have Richard O’Brien as the host or even Edward Tudor-Pole or even Richard Ayoade. Continue readingSwamp Motel presents The Drop which is a very tense and scary, immersive escape game adventure in which you start in being trapped in a lift! The Drop allows all to live one of their biggest fears as you the whole adventure by being trapped in a lift, question is will you escape in time before the lift drops or even worse?
Having played Swamp Motel virtual event The Kindling Hour during last year this time around I went and played their newest live game The Drop. I was invited down to experience their latest immersive experience in London to see how brave I am, and let’s just say I am not. Thankfully I was allowed to also bring some friends otherwise I don’t think I would of escaped.
Co-founders and creative directors Ollie Jones and Clem Garrity (both Kill the Beast and Punchdrunk alumni), brings to London their largest live production to date. It’s also their first IRL experience since the lockdowns.
“We can’t wait to make our return to live entertainment with The Drop. It’s an ambitious and elaborate production that explores the rich history and tale of tragedy surrounding one of the world’s most famous texts, The Great Omar. Like all our work, audiences will be right at the centre of the story, a story we hope will leave them questioning what was real and what wasn’t long after they leave.
This has been a long time in the making for us so we’re particularly excited to premiere it in our home city of London this autumn as the culture scene bounces back to life.”
Says Ollie Jones and Clem Garrity
With The Drop the creators have uncanny blurred the boundaries between the game and reality, making audiences question what is real and what is not as they take on a dark scary adventure where it all starts within a lift.
Will you go up, down, or further than you imagined?

For decades, in a quiet corner of Mayfair, London, a dangerous rift in time and space has been monitored by a group of loyal members of the long-thought-disbanded Unified Intelligence Taskforce – or UNIT for short. Until now they have managed to protect the people of Earth from the threat the rift poses but, weakened and beaten back as the Time Fracture grows out of control, they’re now close to defeat.“
Doctor Who Time Fracture opened initially back in May 2021 but was short lived as shortly after opening they were hit by flash floods in July which caused extensive damage and meant that the show had to close for major repairs. This included installing a flood defence system; but in September and October, when rain storms hit the capital once again, work towards reopening suffered severe setbacks. Now the building is finally fixed with a new drainage and reopen welcoming back fans and new audiences to experience an immersive adventure like no other.
