Gourmaze adventure around London and enjoy tasty treats

If you are coming down to London and are looking at taking a tour, forget hopping on & off a tour bus, or booking a guided tour as Gourmaze will take you on an adventure like no other.

Booking The Sweet Escape adventure with Gourmaze I began to think of adventures taken by Hansel & Gretel, Alice of Wonderland and Sarah of Labyrinth. Why you might wonder? Well heading on up from the underground of Tottenham Road following General Tasty instructions via my phone, I took on a trip of wonder full of surprises as I trotted around London with my friends. With time ticking we tracked along a maze of roads, solved riddles and enjoyed sweet sugary treats.

This adventure with Gourmaze was fab and in my opinion the best way to explore London and discover some great hidden gems be it with friends & family or just by yourself.

I was gifted this experience on a PR basis courtesy of Gourmaze which I enjoyed along with some of my friends and members of my LPUL Community Club.

New to London Gourmaze is a fun way to explore London all whilst enjoying delicious food along the way.

Feeding London With Compassion – guest post by Lindsey Solomons of taste2taste

We are living in unprecedented times. I have heard and read those words so many times over the last few months. My Mum said in March that the Covid-19 pandemic will bring out the best in some, the worst in others. One such positive story is Compassion London, a charity set up in March 2020 by Leon Aarts. Leon is a chef and motivational speaker with many years experience working in the Hospitality Industry. He woke up one day worried about the number of people that would be impacted by the pandemic and lockdown. Leon’s vision was that no person should go to bed hungry, without a decent hot meal. Leon had previously set up Calais Kitchen cooking and supporting the refugees in Northern France. His experiences in France  meant he knew what would be needed to set up something to feed London’s vulnerable communities. Within 3 days of coming up with the idea Leon had formed the charity and posted on Facebook asking for donations. There are lots of Ingredients and produce that often go to waste, that the Food Industry can’t utilise for various reasons. He also sought monetary donations, packaging and mostly importantly volunteers.

TĪNG at The Shard – April Feast Menu

The Shard is one of the most modern iconic buildings within London but apart from the amazing views from top of the Shard did you know you can stay or even dine within the Shard? I had the pleasure of dining at TĪNG which is within Shards resident Shangri-La Hotel courtesy of Bookatable.

The Shard

The Shard which is also referred to as the Shard of Glass is a glass structure which is set within the heart of London Bridge.

This 95 storey skyscraper which was constructed in March 2009 and was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano.  It stands at 309.7 metres (1,016 ft) high, it is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, the tallest building in the European Union, and the fifth-tallest building in Europe.  It is also the second-tallest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom.

It’s the show every British fan has been waiting for Only Fools The (cushty) Dining Experience and it’s brought to you by the people behind the worldwide smash hit Faulty Towers The Dining Experience.

This fully immersive experience Only Fools The (cushty) Dining Experience is a tribute to the BBC’s Only Fools & Horses TV series. The show transports audiences to The Nags Head, to wheel, deal, participate in a quiz and dine on a 3-course meal.

The fun starts from the moment you walk into the Nags Head to play a quiz which Del Boy has been left in charge of. Meanwhile, they try to drum up some cash and try to make a cheeky saving on the side as Del has debts to be paid!

It is a cushty night out with some proper 80’s pub grub, “Lovely Jubbly”.

Licence to Thrill – Up at the O2

Have you ever wanted to dare to experience something new and invigorating? then why not climb over one of London’s most iconic landmarks. Up at the O2 is an experience like no other and you will get a stunning 360 degree panoramic view to a thrill.

The Millennium Dome then the O2

Before I tell you about my fun journey to the O2 and my exhilarating experience here is some further background of the O2.

It originally opened up back in 31 December 1999 as the Millennium Dome and was created as a monument to space and time. Did you know that each of the yellow pillars represents the 12 months of the year, the height of 52m is for each week and it is 365 degrees round to represent each day in the year. During it’s time whilst open it had a number of exhibitions and events throughout the year.

It closed at the end of 2000. It then went into redevelopment for a new indoor entertainment complex which was undertaken by Meridian Delta Ltd. Construction of the arena started in 2003. It reopened in 2007 and was renamed after its primary sponsor, the telecommunications company the O2.

The O2 then has become an iconic example of architectural significance in the London. You can do many activities within, be it to see a concert, watch a movie or even visit an exhibition. Continue reading

Doing time drinking – Alcotraz

Alcotraz is an immersive cocktail bar in London set in the heart of Brick Lane and is the only immersive prison type bar within London at present.  Alcotraz initially opened up as a pop up back in September 2017 created by Sam Shearman the founder of Inventive Productions. From January 2018 though it has now become a permanent venue. Sam was inspired by (you guessed it) Alcatraz. The entire venue can accommodate 40 inmates at any one time and throughout your sentence cell mates will be served four cocktails made from the liquor that you have smuggled past the guards. Cuban Love – Little Havana

I have never been very adventurous when it comes to food but in my later years I am becoming more adventurous and trying out new cuisine.  So with this being my first ever taste of Cuban food I thought what a better way than to try it at the new Little Havana restaurant that recently opened up in October 2017 situated on Inverness Street in Camden.

Little Havana – Cuban cuisine

Raul Jerez is the man who has brought the authentic Cuban flavours to London in which you will be able to experience at Little Havana the great authentic Cuban cuisine and delicious cocktails with plenty of rum ones to choose from of course.  Plus as well as food and drink Little Havana lays on many Latin House nights (on certain nights) and salsa classes (on Tuesdays).
