ImmerCity returns this Summer with a new production Dead Quiet. Similar to previous shows it is a fully immersive murder mystery experience which centres around solving a mysterious murder. This time is about a murder which took place several decades ago at Kensington Central Library.  I had the pleasure of trying out a test run at their dress rehearsal with Bianca a blogger whom is a community member of Love Pop Ups London.

ImmerCity : Dead Quiet

The librarian Miss Gwendolyn Radcliffe has been haunted by what happened over 50 years back ever since a murder happened and thinks it also has a link to the murder of her late husband whom died 10 years after.  So we was all called upon to help solve what happened.  Continue reading

Who done it? – Funicular Productions: The Murder Express

The other day I had the opportunity to board The Murder Express at Pedley Street with some other passengers (fellow bloggers & reviewers of Love Pop Ups London community.)  This production by award winning Funicular Productions was like stepping into a scene such like Murder on the Orient Express as this was after all a murder mystery dinning experience which was based on a train. Escape room recommendations

Escape rooms have become more and more popular and elaborate with some bordering nearly on the immersive side. If you love solving puzzles and cracking clues then Escape rooms are certainly a unique fun thing to do with friends & family or even work colleagues for a social team building challenge. For those that have done escape rooms you will all know that they are very unique and challenging in their own rights.  If you have never done one I highly recommend you do so.

Still asking why play an escape room?

Well if you was like me when I was growing up I used to watch a 90’s television game show called The Crystal Maze and it involved lots of puzzles and challenges all to be done within a set time frame. I love puzzles and challenges so I always wanted to appear on it and be one of those contestants.  Plus I had a crush on Richard O’Brien. Alas though unfortunately I never did get the opportunity to play or appear on The Crystal Maze. However no fear as Crystal Maze is very much like an escape room but instead of playing in a room by yourself with your team mates shouting at you through a window with an escape room you can all play together at the same time. Who cannot be trusted – Inkwell Investigations

Inkwell Investigations is a game of murder mystery with puzzles to solve and friends betraying each other with many hidden agendas and secrets. The big question is who cannot be trusted in your group and who is the murderer?

Inkwell Investigations

Which character will you play?

After booking your game online with Inkwell Investigations you will receive a secret email from one of the Inkwell Family giving you instructions on where to go and what you will need for your investigation. Along with a list of characters which you can choose from. There are eight characters in total one being a gambler, party animal, Lady/Lord of the Manor, an adventurer, lecturer, priest, researcher and a doctor. So each can all decide beforehand who wants to be who. With all the characters being so different there was one to fit each of our personalities quite well. Plus If you like you could always dress up as your character to give the whole game an extra element of role play. However bear in mind this is an outdoor game set in a park so you might get a few funny looks from passers by. Continue reading

Who done it? – Murder Mystery The Poisoned Garden

Murder Mystery The Poisoned Garden took place on the rooftop of John Lewis in Oxford Street during November 2017. I went along to solve the murders and curse of the Winter Household that was produced and performed out by Blackwatch Entertainment. The question is who done it and how can the curse be broken?

The Poisoned Garden by Blackwatch Entertainment –
who done it?

The story was about a curse that was bestowed upon the Winter’s a Victorian family. The whole rooftop was transformed that evening into an eerie 19th century garden. It was up to me and other detectives (guests) on the night to step into the garden and try to crack the curse and many other mysteries of the night. Continue reading

Who done it? – Aftermath

Aftermath is a escape game that comes to you, an immersive game that is great for small or large groups. You just choose the venue and they will come to you. Cost depends on the size of your group.  We chose to hold it in a pub in Clapham called the Railway Tavern to play the game in there space upstairs which was very roomy and had plenty of tables. It is a great size room for a  good size meeting of people. The pub is also just literally a few minutes away from Clapham North station.  It is a lovely pub and even has a few tables outside. They also sell food. I had the triple cooked chips and they were very crunchy and fluffy. Continue reading

Who was the murderer? – Death of the King

The Death of the King is based in the basement of an abandoned rug factory, deep under the streets of London, where a psychologically-thrilling immersive experience awaited.

Death of the King

The story was based on a murder/disappearance of Rusty.  The mystery had never really been investigated properly and solved.  The ravings of his previous housemate, Alex was dismissed as he was classed as a ‘madman’ and confined to the asylum.  So Rusty became a vague memory and a forgotten secret, until now… Continue reading
