Moonstone Murder Mysteries – The Tables Have Turned with me as a guest detective

There has been a murder at Moonstone Murder Mysteries! But who killed Betty and why?

Moonstone Murder Mysteries have been hosting FREE murder mystery evenings live(ish) via YouTube for eight weeks now every Thursday which anyone can get involved in via commenting in the comments section.

Every week a special guest detective can join them on the night. For their ninth case (11 June) The Tables Have Turned I became the guest detective for the evening putting my super sleuthing skills to the test.

Moonstone Murder Mysteries

Moonstone Murder Mysteries offer high-quality Murder Mystery entertainment. They use professional actors and writers to create mystery experiences you’ll never forget.

Since 2012 Moonstone Murder Mysteries has been testing guests sleuthing skills all over the country. From Manor Houses to Underground Bunkers, from Boats to 5 Star Hotels; from Private Members Clubs to your Living Room. You name the place and they will bring the case.

For a Moonstone Theatre Murder Mystery, their formula is the same for the majority of their plot-lines and has been designed to work around the other elements of your event such as service times and any additional entertainment you may have. The plot is played out through a series of scenes between performers and in-between the scenes, their performers will interact with all to answer any sleuthing questions throwing in necessary clues or red herrings along the way.

Escape room recommendations

Escape rooms have become more and more popular and elaborate with some bordering nearly on the immersive side. If you love solving puzzles and cracking clues then Escape rooms are certainly a unique fun thing to do with friends & family or even work colleagues for a social team building challenge. For those that have done escape rooms you will all know that they are very unique and challenging in their own rights.  If you have never done one I highly recommend you do so.

Still asking why play an escape room?

Well if you was like me when I was growing up I used to watch a 90’s television game show called The Crystal Maze and it involved lots of puzzles and challenges all to be done within a set time frame. I love puzzles and challenges so I always wanted to appear on it and be one of those contestants.  Plus I had a crush on Richard O’Brien. Alas though unfortunately I never did get the opportunity to play or appear on The Crystal Maze. However no fear as Crystal Maze is very much like an escape room but instead of playing in a room by yourself with your team mates shouting at you through a window with an escape room you can all play together at the same time. Inkwell Investigations

Which character will you play?

After booking your game online with Inkwell Investigations you will receive a secret email from one of the Inkwell Family giving you instructions on where to go and what you will need for your investigation. Along with a list of characters which you can choose from. There are eight characters in total one being a gambler, party animal, Lady/Lord of the Manor, an adventurer, lecturer, priest, researcher and a doctor. So each can all decide beforehand who wants to be who. With all the characters being so different there was one to fit each of our personalities quite well. Plus If you like you could always dress up as your character to give the whole game an extra element of role play. However bear in mind this is an outdoor game set in a park so you might get a few funny looks from passers by. Continue reading

Who done it? – Murder Mystery The Poisoned Garden

Murder Mystery The Poisoned Garden took place on the rooftop of John Lewis in Oxford Street during November 2017. I went along to solve the murders and curse of the Winter Household that was produced and performed out by Blackwatch Entertainment. The question is who done it and how can the curse be broken?

The Poisoned Garden by Blackwatch Entertainment –
who done it?

The story was about a curse that was bestowed upon the Winter’s a Victorian family. The whole rooftop was transformed that evening into an eerie 19th century garden. It was up to me and other detectives (guests) on the night to step into the garden and try to crack the curse and many other mysteries of the night. Continue reading
