In order to celebrate my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary I decided to have a portrait of their granddaughter and grandson painted by artist Michael of Paint Your Life and they were extremely happy with it, in fact my mum cried when she opened it up and saw the painting.

Art Sippers be merry and be creative

Art Sippers is all about having fun, sipping on drink be it beer or wine, partying to music and of course painting!

Did you know that art is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety? as it let’s anyone get creative, increases brain plasticity, and can help with other mental health benefits.

As Pablo Picasso one said

“Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

I was invited down on a complimentary basis along with Steve a community member of Love Pop Ups London to release our arty side.

Art Sippers

Am I the next Vincent van Gogh? – Paint Republic

Growing fast ‘paint and sip’ events are the all-new way to socialise with friends on a night out.

Only recently I attended another painting class in which I learnt how to paint the London landscape and with me not painting a serious piece of artwork since school but only maybe the odd stick man with my niece I was prepared to grab a paintbrush and take things seriously, well slightly.  I loved the class so much and was quite impressed with my piece of art at the end of it.

This time around I was invited down on a complimentary basis via Paint Republic to try out one of their fun ‘paint and sip’ classes.  I went along with my friend Laura to one of their classes to paint flowers. Why flowers? well I love flowers and have always felt inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s art work of his famous painting of sunflowers.

So the challenge was on could I be the next Vincent van Gogh?

Get Arty – PopUp Painting

I am a big kid at heart and just love anything fun and quirky.  So, when I heard about PopUp Painting I was excited about the prospect of trying to paint a proper piece of art with a paintbrush in one hand and a glass of prosecco in another.

To be honest though I have not painted properly for a long time as the only painting I seem to do now days is with my niece who is six and let’s just say my art is more on the lines of stick men and unicorns.

So, when I was invited down on a complimentary basis along with another member of Love Pop Ups London (Chelsea) to have some fun in painting I was certainly not going to let this opportunity brush on by.

PopUp Painting

PopUp Painting popped up back in 2013 with their take on social painting classes.  Social painting classes have been popular over the world for a number of years but there was not any in the UK at the time.
