Pancakes may be served anytime during the year but mainly they are enjoyed on Shrove Tuesday in the UK and the Commonwealth which is commonly known as Pancake Day. Pancakes are usually round in shape and typically made using eggs, flour and milk. Why? as historically, perishable ingredients had to be used up before the fasting period of Lent.
