Jamaica here I come – Three Little Birds

Once you step inside a Three Little Birds restaurant you will feel like that you have been transported to Jamaica with the vibe of the place, music, smell of rum and Jamaican food.

Three Little Birds

Firstly let me tell you more about Three Little Birds.

April Jackson (former Miss Jamaica Universe, food blogger & The Apprentice 2015 candidate) decided to open up her own Jamaican inspired restaurants.

Three Little Birds was initially a project to celebrate Jamaica’s cuisine, music and talent whilst giving guests the opportunity to escape the concrete jungle and instead journey to the Caribbean.

She opened up her first restaurant and rum bar in Brixton to celebrate her island’s cuisine, music and talent.

Vegan pizza lover heaven – Purezza

I had the pleasure in going along the other day to sample some plant-based vegan food by Purezza and I was highly surprised in how much I loved their vegan food.

Purezza who are they?

Before I tell you about my experience and what I thought of the food let me tell you a bit more about Purezza.

Purezza is one of the very first vegan pizzeria’s to open in the UK.  It opened it’s first in Brighton back in 2015 followed on by the one in Camden in which I visited. Continue reading

Roll up, roll up – Circus

I was invited the other day to attend Circus Christmas showcase.  That’s right their Christmas showcase.  Christmas seems to get mentioned earlier and earlier each year. Sometimes I wonder if I ever should take down and pack away my Christmas tree.  However this was a fantastic Christmas spectacular.

I enjoyed the evening along with some other community members of Love Pop Ups London. We got to lounge in the Circus cocktail bar whilst enjoying circus / cabaret style acts and indulging on Christmas pan-Asian canapés.

Read on to find out more about Circus and about my experience. Continue reading

Taste of Italy in Dalston – Rotorino

Rotorino is an Italian restaurant and wine bar that is in Dalston. I was invited along to try out their regional Italian set course meal last Tuesday. I am half Maltese so Italian food is my number one cuisine.

Rotorino – Who they are

Head Chef’s Lewis and Stevie are constantly working on new things to bring Italy to Dalston. The menu changes slightly every day along with new specials every week. All the pasta dishes are available in small or large size. However as they are an Italian restaurant and Italian’s love sharing they highly encourage sharing plates. Continue reading

Drink goggles on, party shoes on, check – Drake and Morgans: The Listing

I had the privilege of going along to the launch night of Drake and Morgans newest bar & restaurant The Listing which is based in Cannon Street last week on 9th November. This is now Drake and Morgans 19th bar & restaurant.

Drake and Morgans: The Listing

The launch party was being held on the ground floor in the main bar and restaurant area. The party was heaving with people but that did not matter as the two storied building with wrap around windows gave you views from in/out of the restaurant making the whole place seem open leading us not to feel claustrophobic. I went along with my blogger friends Steve and Kim Continue reading

Steak and more steak – Bar + Block

This new Bar + Block in Kings Cross which has recently opened joins the other existing Birmingham and Whiteley restaurants.  There is also another new Bar + Block to open soon in Bath.

Bar + Block in Kings Cross

Bar + Block in Kings Cross shares it’s space within Premier Inn.  Upon entering the restaurant entrance you firstly come across a bar area before getting to the reception desk.  The staff are all very friendly and welcoming.  The restaurant area is quite a large open space with a number of lovely wooden tables dotted around and everything is beige/wooden colours making the place very relaxing on the eyes.  I went along with one of my blogger friends Gemma and we sat in one of the comfy booths on the side which had a window looking out into the reception area of Premier Inn. We also could see the chefs open Kitchen area easily from where we was sat.  I love open kitchen areas as I so love watch the chefs cook. We were firstly presented with a bread basket that consisted of several different types of bread which was lovely and very fresh however we did not get a piece of each different style of bread so we had to break in half each piece which was strange I thought.  Plus there was melted butter in the bottom of the cup holding the bread.
