The Seafood Bar serves up fresh oysters, lobster, crab and so much more

If you love seafood as much as I do but live in London and not near the coast but really craving seafood then look no further as The Seafood Bar within London on Dean Street is the restaurant to visit. They are an AWARD WINNING restaurant founded by the De Visscher family, who have been fishmongers since 1984. They are famous for oysters and their seafood platters but they also sell a great range of other seafood dishes such as calamari as well as traditional fish & chips.

I went along on a press related basis to experience the delights of what they had on offer.

The Seafood Bar

The Seafood Bar is founded by the De Visscher family.

Fons de Visscher is a a respected fishmonger in Helmond, a small city in the Netherlands, and he decided to start a new adventure. Driven by his passion for fish and great wines, Fons created The Seafood Bar. His very first restaurant opened its doors back in 2012 in Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam shortly followed by a three more.

28 August 2021 the De Visscher family opened up it’s first London restaurant serving up a great variety of fresh seafood all from within a 1730 Grade II listed Georgian townhouse on Dean Street.

There concept is very simple, incredible fresh products, and reasonable prices. In short, good food and drinks. But the real success lies in his dedication of the De Visscher family – 100% heart for the business, 24 hours a day. With attention for the guests and an eye for every detail.

Seasons Bistro enjoy fresh seasonal fish and vegetables

If like me when ever you head on into London to enjoy a meal with friends it can sometimes be quite a challenge to decide where to eat. Did you know that there are in over 18,110 restaurants within London with cuisines from all around the world served up.?

I though prefer seafood and Mediterranean cuisine so when I heard about Seasons in which only cooks using fresh seasonal produce I just had to try them out.

All of their food which is cooked and served uses only seasonal food meaning that each dish is 100% fresh and environmentally friendly as sourced locally. Also as they use only seasonal produce their menu changes regularly to reflect the food available at the time.

I was gifted a complimentary meal from Seasons Bistro in Chelsea in return for an honest review.

Seasons

Seasons restaurants can be found within London and soon will be opening in Miami and New York.

Back in 2020 Seasons opened their first contemporary gastronomy restaurant within Mayfair which is their flagship establishment. Since opening they soon after opened up with five Seasons Bistros within Fitzrovia, Notting Hill, Kensington, Bayswater and Chelsea.

They are all about cooking and serving up high quality, clean, nutritious food which is good for our souls, health and happiness. As mindful eating and being in tune with our own health and nutritional needs is very important.

Seasons serves up the freshest fish, vegetables, and dairy on the market daily.

Fish To Your Door from the seaside to your door

You don’t need to live near the seaside to have fresh seafood, as Fish To Your Door can deliver a wide range of seafood straight from the sea to your door.

As I am trying to get a bit healthier after putting on nearly two stone due to all the lockdowns because of the Covid pandemic I have decided to cut down on meat and eat more fish, as fish is much healthier and not fatty. Did you know? that seafood is packed with nutrients which is needed for our health and wellness, including omega 3, iron, protein, and vitamins B & D.

Courtesy of Fish To Your Door I was gifted a few samples of their fresh seafood from tuna to lobster to try at home. I discovered it really does make a difference having fresh fish that comes straight from the coast as it is not only looks fresh, better in colour, but has great flavour.

Fish To Your Door

Fish To Your Door has been delivering fresh seafood out of Sussex for over 25 years and is family run.

As to ensure there is continuous stock for all their customers Fish To Your Door purchase fish from all major fish markets around the UK. They source the majority of their fish directly from local fishermen from Brighton, Eastbourne, Littlehampton, Newhaven, Portsmouth and Seaford. Plus they only stock responsibly sourced fish from aquaculture farms all over Europe and the Mediterranean.

All the fish they do source are from fisherman and coastal communities that are part of the ‘Under 10 Meter Artisanal Fleet’. The under 10m sector employs the highest number of fishermen nationwide while having the lowest environmental impact, creating jobs and food while acting ethically and responsibly with our shared marine resources.

Fish To Your Door sells only the freshest fish and their traceability system means that every product can be tracked all the way from the sea to the saucepan! Coupled with their new Sustainable Certification, this means that when you buy from them you are getting the freshest, most responsibly sourced fish money can buy.
