Popcorn Shed popping with flavour, crunch, sweetness and sourness

We all love a sweet or sour snack to munch on and Popcorn Shed popcorn is the answer as they sell a wide variety of popcorn from Salted Caramel to Blue Cheese popcorn. Popcorn Shed popcorn comes in handy boxes shaped like a shed with a viewing window displaying their yummy popcorn. Popcorn is widely consumed worldwide which is generally eaten within theatres, cinemas and at home.

Popcorn dates back as early as 4700 BC as evidence of corn which was popped was discovered within Peru by archaeologists. From the 19th century, popcorn which could be popped up at home was sold across the USA under the name Pearls of Nonpareil it was not till 1848 that the actual term popcorn came about. All that was required to achieve that perfect fresh tasting popcorn at home was a stove, pan with lid, oil or butter and the kernels. Popcorn was in fact a widely consumed breakfast cereal by the Americans which they added to milk and sweeteners. Since the 1800s popcorn has evolved and can be cooked in a variety of ways from within an air popped popcorn machine to microwaving within a microwavable bag.

What is popcorn though you might ask? Well popcorn is a corn kernel which when heated within oil expands and puffs up. Each kernel of popcorn contains a certain amount of moisture and oil. The outer hull of the popcorn kernel is strong and impervious to moisture and the starch inside consists almost entirely of a hard type. As the oil and water within the kernel are heated, they turn the moisture in the kernel into pressurized steam. Under these conditions, the starch inside the kernel gelatinizes, softens and becomes pliable. The internal pressure of the entrapped steam continues to increase until the breaking point of the hull is reached. The hull there upon ruptures rapidly and explodes, causing a sudden drop in pressure inside the kernel and a corresponding rapid expansion of the steam, which expands the starch and proteins of the endosperm into airy foam. As the foam rapidly cools, the starch and protein polymers set into the familiar crispy puff. When the popcorn has finished popping, sometimes un-popped kernels remain. Known in the popcorn industry as old maids, these kernels fail to pop because they do not have enough moisture to create enough steam for an explosion.

I was gifted a variety pack courtesy of Enjoy Stevie who sell a range of products from a vast number of businesses at reduced prices. With Enjoy Stevie you can SAVE 15% off Popcorn Shed.

JimJams 83% Less Sugar Spread Snack

I recently was told that I am on the verge of becoming a diabetic so lately I have had to change what I eat in a big way and one of the main things I had to cut from my diet was sugar so that meant cutting out my daily treat of munching on a chocolate bar or two.

So when I received an email to taste and review JimJams newest product of Milk Chocolate Dippers which is a healthier chocolate snack I could not resist. JimJams milk chocolate is 83% less sugar than a normal chocolate spread.

Did you know that most chocolate spreads contain the equivalent of up to 56 cubes of sugar in one standard jar?

JimJams

Kellie and Kevin wanted an alternative healthier treat for their children and so it became their mission to create a chocolate spread that tasted fantastic yet contained a lot less sugar than leading brands (83% less sugar to be precise!) and so JimJams was born.
