DoubleTree by Hilton pirate takeover

Not all treasure is silver and gold as I and my buccaneers found whilst at DoubleTree by Hilton in the Docklands.

We were invited down on a complimentary basis to enjoy the treasures of which the Columbia restaurant provided to a themed pirate afternoon tea which we were treated to a bountiful of cakes, cakes and more cakes.

Columbia has recently been newly renovated giving hungry diners fresh, seasonal and international offerings.

Enjoy a unique dining experience overlooking Canary Wharf. Start your day with an international breakfast or enjoy perhaps a three course meal or even a themed afternoon tea for those who are craving something sweet. Whatever you choose though you will not be disappointed.

Yo-ho and bottle of rum – Cottons Rhum Shack in Vauxhall

Cottons Rhum Shack in Vauxhall is a great place if you want to taste and drink various rums from across the world and eat great spicy Caribbean food.

A few months back I had the opportunity to sample Cottons Rhum Shack Caribbean food in their Shoreditch restaurant but only recently they have opened up yet another Cottons Rhum Shack in Vauxhall with this now being their fourth (others include Camden and Notting Hill). Originally London RIB Voyages, Thames Rockets took to the river Thames in 2006 becoming the first ever speedboat tour operator in London. Within a matter of months they scored their first award ‘Small Business of the Year’, then quickly followed with the ‘Best New Tourist Attraction: Gold Award’ from VisitLondon plus so many other numerous awards.
