Simon Gross returns this year with his adult panto humour A Lad in Soho at the Karma Sanctum Hotel.
After a successful run last year of Snow White And The Seven Poofs this year you’ll be able to wish along with Aladdin shouting out such words as “it’s behind you” or perhaps “it’s up your anus” at this is an adult panto after all with a difference.
I had the pleasure of attending a meet & greet hour to meet the cast and discuss what we might expect from this upcoming adult panto in December.
Forget Aladdin jump on your flying carpet and see A lad in Soho instead
On this magical panto journey audiences will join Aladdin, Widow Twankey, Wishee Washee, Princess Jasmine, Slave of the Ring, Lady Abanazer, and the most outrageous, campest Genie in pantomime history yet!
Singing along to feelgood party anthems such as “Material Girl”, “YMCA”, “A Whole New World”, “Reach For The Stars”, “The Best Of Times” and “Hanky Panky”. This show promises to be bigger, bolder, camper, ruder than ever before!
The perfect and only way to kick start your Christmas off with a big bang.
Cast
Lady Abanazer
Played by Simon Gross who is known for his appearance in Big Brother 2015 and many other television credits he will leave you roaring out “it’s behind you” whilst you try to warn Aladdin and Princess Jasmine of his presence but then how is he not to be missed with his flamboyant personality and showbiz aw.
Aladdin
Played by Eren Arken who is new to the industry after just graduating from drama school (EDA). He is a fit energetic young actor of just 22 years of age and this will be his debut to London stage. He originates from Cyprus which did you know the Fez which Aladdin traditionally wears comes from. With his charm and wit you won’t be able to keep your eyes of him and once he sings your heart will feel like it is on a magical carpet.
Genie, Dame & Widow Twankey
Playing three parts, magician Campbell Glazier will be bringing his acting skills and comical magic to this panto. He has performed in various venues around London and Kent and recently performed in seven pantos all within one hour at The Edinburgh Festival. He will be bringing to his characters bags of energy, comedy and personality along with magic.
Princess Jasmine
Ellie Makewell recently graduated from drama school (EDA) she will be debuting as Princess Jasmine. With her fun and bit ditzy character she will have audiences in stitches. You will also be blown away by her singing.
Wishee Washee
Angus Dustagheer who comes from Mauritius will be bringing his acting skills to the stage with everything he has from his soul to his balls.
Coming soon
I will be attending a press performance show of A Lad in Soho when it opens in December so make sure to keep an eye out on my blog site for my verdict.
“What would you wish for?” and how have we waited “Ten thousand years for this panto” the Genie might say?
