Remedy Drinks refreshing, tasty and healthy

Founders Sarah and Emmet Condon originally started Remedy in their kitchen making Kombucha. They wanted to do something good. Shake things up. They knew that healthy could also be tasty and easy. They believed we all deserve to know that too. So with that in mind they moved on from the kitchen bench, and began producing small batches all of which are brewed for 30 days resulting in the tastiest and healthiest Kombucha.

Kombucha has been made by people around the world for thousands of years but not widely accessible to purchase pre-made. Now Remedy Drinks has fixed the solution in providing consumers alike with a variety of flavoured Kombuchas as well as Switchel and Coconut Water refreshing drinks to enjoy at home or out and about.

What is Kombucha?

In a nutshell, Kombucha is fermented tea. Remedy Drinks use the traditional method of making Kombucha which involves natural fermentation of sweet tea, wild healthy bacteria and yeasts resulting in a tasty drink with sweet and sour flavours that contains healthy, living cultures (aka good bacteria) and organic acids that are good for your gut and overall well-being.

I learned firstly that Kombucha has been drunk by the Chinese for over 2000 years and they named it “Immortal Health Elixir”. It started to become popular in the States in the 1990’s and there were claims that it could cause improvement in many illnesses and chronic conditions and was labelled curative and energising. Made usually with sweetened black or green tea made by fermenting tea. Kombucha is sometimes described as having a rich, earthy taste which varies according to the length of time it has been fermenting for. Others describe Kombucha drinks as slightly vinegary but with a pleasant balance of sweet and sour. However Remedy Drinks thankfully though do not taste vinegary but fruity instead. With six unique flavours each providing a refreshing healthy beverage.

Kombucha Raspberry Lemonade is a little similar to a fruit raspberry lemonade. Contains real lemon juice with a zesty balance of sweet berry flavours. Raspberry delight.

Ginger Lemon has a hit of ginger and lemon and pepperness to it giving a sweet and yet sour flavour. It’s a little like ginger beer. Fiery and tangy.

Peach is a fizzy fruity treat, full of sweetness. Refreshing hit.

Cherry Plum is full of cherries and plums giving a taste explosion of real fruitiness. Crisp and fresh.

Apple Crisp is similar to apple cider fresh, crispy and fruity.

Original is a tart bubbly brew which is like a sweet and sour apple cider -like notes that pop. This is Remedy purest Kombucha as is the real deal, straight from the fermentation pot to the bottle.

Onto their Switchels. Switchel is like a punch which is made with a water mix with vinegar, and often seasoned with ginger. Plus it is usually sweetened with molasses, though honey, sugar, brown sugar, or maple syrup are sometimes used. Remedy Drinks though provide two different healthy versions though.

Blood Orange is a fizzy type drink, juicy, tangy and tart. Orange with a difference.

Tropical is fresh, full of fruity flavours with a citrus kick, and very tropical. Paradise in a bottle.

Remedy Drink also produce Coconut Water.

Passionfruit fizzy and tangy. Lush.

Pure has creamy undertones of fresh coconut with a fizzy, tangy twist. Mellow, luscious and straight up refreshing.

Verdict

With Remedy Drinks I did not miss not having sugar as their drinks are ever so refreshing and most fruity but the best thing about their drinks are that they have all been lovingly made, fermented for over 30 days and are healthy for body and mind.

I certainly recommend these if you are looking for a healthy drink and something that little different.
