Pottd get potty and create ever lasting memories

I love to get crafty at home as it is fun but also great for wellness. When I discovered about Pott’d People I was super excited as looking at their videos via Instagram and surfing through their website it gave me lots of creative ideas.

Pottery to me really does relax me and take my mind of things but it also at the same time lets me release my creativity. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and helps boost my own self-confidence and resilience after creating anything. Even though my pottery skills are not A1 as I am a novice after all it’s something that I made from scratch and something for me to be proud of.

I was kindly gifted courtesy of Pott’d People for an honest review.

Pott’d

Pott’d was launched back in 2021 by couple Frankie and Sascha.

They love pottery and hence want everyone else to fall in love with pottery so they decided to put together pottery boxes with easy instructions within each box. To them pottery is not just fun but also great for mental health as it lets you disconnect from the world and channel your inner artist.

The clay kit is priced at £30 and comes with

  • A quick start guide
  • 2 x 1kg Packs of Pott’d Premium Air-Dry Clay
  • 5 Wooden Sculpting Tools in a Reusable Bag
  • 8 Premium Acrylic Paints plus 2 x Brushes
  • White Base Coat & Gloss Varnish to Finish

Opening the box I was very excited to see that it came with 2 large bags of clay plus comes with five wooden pottery tools for sculpting, carving, shaping and cutting, white base paint, varnish and eight premium acrylic paints and two bristle paint brushes. Plus, most importantly there’s a quick-start guide featuring step-by-step instructions to create a variety of pottery pieces or you can go rogue and get creative with your own creation. Pott’d in fact has four different paint options from metallic, pastel, regular, and neon. I opted for pastel paints.

Looking over some of the guides I could easily see how easy it is to make a bowl like shape and so with a few creative thoughts of my own I decided to make an eggcup and a plant pot.

As it was around Halloween time I received my box I decided to get crafty and make a spooky monster eggcup which I have named Eggbert. So with a few rolls here and there and a pinch or two I soon had my very own spooky eggcup ready for wetting, drying and painting. It is advised that you let the clay dry for at least 1 or 2 days.

After 2 days of drying I then painted my eggcup with the base white paint, then I painted using the pastel colours provided before then finally varnishing.

What do you think of my Eggbert who is a monster who loves to eat eggs?

Plus as Christmas is also nearly upon us I also decided to make a Christmas Plant Pot for a small Christmas tree.

However as I wanted to make quite a number of Christmas related items such as a Santa Hat, Teddy Bear, Candy Cane etc to stick around my pot I broke the rules of pottery and instead of sticking the wet clay to the clay I waited for all to dry, then painted, varnished and then stuck each onto my pot with super glue. I don’t advice doing this as it don’t look as clean and professional as if you where going to stick clay to clay but I had my idea in mind and wanted to do my pot with multiple bits stuck to it.

Still I am quite proud of my plant pot. What do you think?

Verdict

Rating: 5 out of 5.

From all the crafty things I have sent to me in the past this has been the most fun one I have ever got. Not only did the box from Pott’d come with everything I could possibly need from the clay to the paints the easy step by step guide instructions made it easy for me to create any multiple things from pots to plates. Plus gave me many creative ideas so I could come up with something of my own. So it does not matter if you are a novice, amateur or an expert at pottery as Pott’d provides everything you might need.

Getting potty with pottery is not just fun but it is also a great way to destress.

Pott’d is also the perfect alternate night of fun be it for a pottery night with a group of friends, a date night indoors or just as a gift for someone to enjoy in their own time and leisure.
