Royal China Group famous dim sum in London Baker Street

I love Chinese cuisine and like many I usually order duck with pancakes, spare ribs, beef in black bean sauce and munch on prawn crackers. However I have never had dim sum until now. Dim Sum is very popular with Chinese as a way to relax, and spend time with family over the weekend during the morning. What is dim sum though you might be asking? Dim sum is a cuisine which comes from Canton in China. Dim sum is basically pillow like buns which are generally either steamed or fried. They are served on small plates or within a wicker basket.

Courtesy of Royal China Club I was gifted a few different dim sums from steamed to fried to show me how tasty dim sum is.

Royal China Club Baker Street

Already famous in China, Hong Kong, and Dubai, Royal China Club bought their award winning chain of restaurants to London. They have four restaurants in all within London (Baker Street, Canary Riverside, Fulham, and Harrow on the Hill). They are famous for their Chinese dishes as well as Dim Sum which can be enjoyed within their Baker Street restaurant. The dim sum can be enjoyed during the day up to 5pm. All the dim sum is prepared on a daily basis by a team of dedicated Dim Sum chefs using always the best available ingredients on offer. To maintain maximum freshness, the Dim Sum are freshly steamed or fried only after the customer places their order. Luck seeking – Air China Land of Luck

With it being Chinese New Year, Air China popped up with their pop up Land of Luck in The Bargehouse on London’s Southbank to bring Londoners good fortune and to celebrate the Year of The Pig.

According to Chinese horoscope the pig represents luck, overall good fortune, wealth, honesty, general prosperity, symbolising a hard working, a peace-loving person, a truthful, generous, indulgent, patient, reliable, trusting, sincere, giving, sociable person with a large sense of humour and understanding.

I was cordially invited to attend the press night before opening to the public for one day to see what this pop up was all about.
