Sheep or no sheep? – clueQuest: Revenge of the Sheep

The other day I went along to yes you guessed it by the photo above yet another Escape Room in London and when I thought I’d had my list of top 5 Escape Rooms in my head clueQuest Revenge of the Sheep has had to make me rethink about my top 5 as this one is most certainly now one of them.

I will try and not give too much away but my blog could have some potential spoiler alerts so be warned before reading any further and watch out for the puns.

Firstly clueQuest is the only Escape Room venue that I know of that has three different games that ewe can play all with a different skill levels and have continuous story lines from the first game Plan52 to the last Revenge of the Sheep. Plus there are duplicates of the rooms so you can compete against other team mates/colleagues. Each team can hold up to 5 people. In Spring 2018 there will be a new fourth room opening.

The venue is very spacious and has many waiting areas where you can herd together and wait before your game or should I say challenge plus as the waiting areas are also a great place to celebrate your victory or Baaaaaaad Performance afterwards and become an artist and scribble in the clueQuest mission book. The best scribbling or should I say art work at the end of each month gets to come back for free. At the end of any game you get a photo taken of your team regardless if you won or failed and are given a printed photo to keep plus your team photo will also be emailed on.  Plus if you complete the game within the 60 minutes and save the world or save yourself from being turned into a sheep (Revenge of the Sheep) then you will get a magnetic fridge magnet of yourselves.  Plus they have also started giving out recently at the end of a game new identity agent cards once you have completed the mission.

If you scan these using the clueQuest app on your smartphone you will see one of the characters appear, be it the evil snail or a sheep. Who will ewe get?

Revenge of the Sheep

The mission/story

As with all missions we are helping Mr Q stop the evil Professor Blacksheep from destroying the world in some way or another.  So Professor BlackSheep is back again this time he wants to destroy mankind by wanting to turn everyone all into sheep! But this time he is not alone as he has his evil side-kick the evil snail on-hand to help him.  Together they have built a very dangerous device the SheepMutator.

Mr Q believes that the new technology used by the Professor Blacksheep poses a serious threat: by mutating the human genome, the SheepMutator can turn anyone who is in the range on its evil rays into sheep! There are several such devices placed in key locations around the planet with one of them set up right in London.

With any escape room you have just 60 Minutes. So we had to locate and find a way to deactivate all devices before time runs out otherwise all of mankind will be turned into sheep.

The room and my verdict

Me and my herd of sheep (some community members of Love Pop Ups – London) all were herded into a small confined area.  Without giving too much away the importance of this room is the symbols so focus on them. When you have figured out the meaning behind the symbols you will be able to hopefully crack the codes which will then take you onto pastures new I mean the next room. The shutters started to go up and we all threw ourselves under the shutter like before it could open like a frantic sheep whom might be called Indiana Jones.  We then all immediately started hunting and crawling on the floor in seek of clues and keys. There are quite a few objects in this room which made it great as everyone could work and figure out something rather than all five of us flocking around like a flock of sheep on one puzzle and butting heads.  There are three main objects though that really were the star attractions and without giving too much away all I can say is chess won’t help you in one situation, your RM won’t go anywhere if you use this object, and a dog would love this object but you may be pleased to know that no dogs have been near it.  Also remember no objects need shear force.  If it does not open or twist with a turn or pull then it is not meant to be open.  I also loved the fact that this one also had technology involved with the use of an ipad so for all you tech fans you will love it.  However be warned as there are some clues where the wool might be pulled over your eyes as there are quite a few red herrings. None of us was sheeple and so we luckily managed to crack the game and escape.

clueQuest guest book

We celebrated our victory with a Fentimans drink which I bought along, received our victory magnetic’s and scribbled in the clueQuest book. We then all hoofed it off home all as happy as a lamb.

I can’t wait to see their new escape room that is coming out in Spring 2018 I bet it will “Raise the baa”

Wool you be able to crack the mission within the 60 minutes and stop yourself and the world from being turned into a sheep?

With any clueQuest game you won’t feel like you have been fleeced as all their games are challenging and very fun “Believe ewe me!”
