Funicular Production Murder Express Part Deux – Who stole the jewel and murdered for it?

Having boarded Funicular Productions Murder Express train before from Pedley Street I knew that my food adventure would be interrupted as a murder always takes place but this time around a theft also occurred of a precious jewel from the cargo area reeking even more havoc on board.

I attended a special press night on a courtesy basis where I braved yet another journey on board the Murder Express.

They have put on a variety of pop up shows over time with their most popular being The Murder Express which has been entertaining guests for a number of years now.

2022 they are proud to present their newest production of Murder Express Part Deux in which the food is curated by MasterChef The Professionals Finalist from 2017 Louisa Ellis.

Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? With Funicular Productions latest adventure Cocktail Time Machine you can do just that whilst drinking newly invented drinks at the time and partying through past decades in various countries.

I was invited down along with another member of Love Pop Ups London where travelled back and had an adventure like no other.

Tasting a feast by Masterchef Finalist Nawamin for Nipa Thai upcoming pop up

I am quite new to eating Thai cuisine as I have never been one for spice but lately I have been getting braver and braver and eating foods which I normally would not eat. So when I was invited by @simbamustchop to join her to enjoy a tasting menu for Nipa Thai’s upcoming event which Masterchef UK 2018 finalist runner up Nawamin Boss will be hosting along with Sanguan in September I jumped to the chance.

Nipa Thai is a beautiful Thai restaurant which is tucked within inside Royal Lancaster London which is an independent, Thai-owned hotel located opposite Hyde Park.

Nipa, which means ‘shining light’ in Thai, are renowned for serving delicious traditional Thai cuisine in London.

Nipa Thai has a prestigious “Thai Select” award from the Thai Government for it’s authentic cuisine.  This accolade is presented to Thai restaurants has proven to have achieved the highest standards of quality.

Their authentic Thai cuisine, renowned for it’s finesse and delicacy in balancing five key flavours: sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and salty.

Scripts for Supper presents Wind in the Willows – Onion sauce, onion sauce says Mole

Scripts for Supper returns this Spring & Summer with an adaptation of Wind in the Willows along with delicious feast by Juanita Hennessey who was a MasterChef finalist back in 2016.

I and Steve we were invited down on a complimentary basis to take a journey with Toad, Ratty, Mole and Badger whilst indulging in a 5 course feast, thankfully there was no onion soup but pea soup instead.

Scripts for Supper creates brand new adaptations of classic stories and serves them alongside a bespoke menu inspired by the world of the play.

Annie McKenzie has been creating alongside Jessica McVay divine immersive dinners since 2017. Since then they have now grown to become a 5 star sell out immersive dining experience. 

Their experiences fuse together theatre, food, music, song and dance, and take diners on a culinary and theatrical story telling journey.

Who is Annie McKenzie? – Scripts for Supper presents The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Annie McKenzie brings her theatrical supper club dining Scripts for Supper to London this winter with her latest production The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

I was invited courtesy of Annie herself to experience her latest production and enjoy the wonderful Victorian inspired dishes in return for a review.

Who is Annie McKenzie and what is Scripts for Supper?

Annie McKenzie

Actor Annie McKenzie was a semi-finalist on MasterChef 2016 in which she impressed judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with her bold flavours and classic style of cooking. Even Michelin Starred Marcus Waring called her “A serious cook” with celebrated food critic Jay Rayner commenting that her food was “rich serious and delicious”.

Since then Annie set up her own theatrical dining business Scripts for Supper which fuses together food and theatre.

Scripts for Supper opened it’s door back in 2017 bringing to London a dining theatrical experience.

Her first debut production Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare at The London Cooking Project which received 5* reviews.

Ever watched people and celebrities on television enjoying culinary delights cooked by MasterChef finalists and ever wondered what it might be like. Well wait no more as with The Jam Shed Supper Club you can do just that.

I had the privilege of attending the first night of The Jam Shed Supper Club to taste their Australian wine which was being showcased and to enjoy culinary delights by Stuart Archer MasterChef finalist of 2016 one of the many MasterChefs who will be cooking at this pop up.
