The Grand feed me – Little Shop of Horrors

I had the privilege of attending The Grand along with some other community members of Love Pop Ups London to watch the classic movie Little Shop of Horrors.

The Grand

The Grand was established in 1900. Launched originally as a music hall, since then it has held a number of different events from cinema screenings, shows, bingo and even a nightclub. However The Grand has always remained true to it’s original aim to entertain.

Back in the day The Grand quickly established itself as one of London’s premier venues, attracting all sorts of stars from Marie Lloyd to young Charlie Chaplin. Continue reading

Lights, camera, action – Pop Up Screens

Hello! Welcome to the Pop Up Screens. Pop Up Screens returns this winter with a Christmas theme. I had the pleasure to go along to a press night with fellow bloggers of ‘Love Pop Ups – London’ community to see the classic Christmas movie ‘The Muppets Christmas Carol’.

Many pop up cinemas are set outside but thankfully this one was set inside in Hackney Showrooms. You will be transported into a wintery world from the off to watch one of the many famous classic Christmas movies which they are showing during December.

Firstly before entering into the bar or screening area you come across a display board with many different sayings that you can take selfies with my best being “I’ll be hanging around the mistletoe…”

Secret Cinema was launched back in 2007 and since then it has taken the world of immersive experiences by storm.  They have used lots of various buildings over the past years to play their productions in from warehouses to fields. They always push the boundaries to create a 360 degree participatory worlds where the boundaries between performer and audience, set and reality are constantly changing.
